Young Adults Peer Café is a welcoming space for young adults with disability from multicultural backgrounds to meet, connect and support each other.

Come along to meet new people, share experiences and ideas, learn from each other, and have some fun together!

We talk about things that matter to young people, explore new ideas through workshops and activities, and create opportunities to connect with the community.

New members are always welcome. Come as you are and be part of our peer community!

NDIS Changes - Our voices still matter

Dear DDAlliance peers, families and allies

On 19 August, the NDIS amendment legislation passed Parliament.

We know many people with disability, families, advocates and organisations worked hard to raise concerns about these changes and shared their experiences, knowledge and voices. We are disappointed that, despite these strong voices from the disability community, the legislation has now passed.

While the Bill has passed, our voices still matter. The changes ahead will affect people with disability in different ways, and it is important that we continue to speak up, share our experiences and hold decision-makers accountable.

“Nothing about us without us” remains as important as ever. People with disability must be genuinely involved in decisions that affect their lives.

DDAlliance will continue to stand with our peers, families and allies, listen to our communities and create opportunities for people with disability to have their voices heard.

Redefining Possible: Four Voices, One Community showcases personal stories created by members of the vibrant Diversity and Disability Alliance Community. Julie, Sozan, Bill and Pauline share glimpses of their unique points of view, strength and determination, demonstrating the power of possibility and inclusion.

These four stories were created as part of a strong storytelling culture within the Diversity and Disability Alliance community of peers. Our stories are designed to start conversations.

• Red Carpet event - October 18th in Chatswood.

Focus on Ability invites filmmakers of all experience levels to celebrate the abilities of people with disabilities through powerful, authentic storytelling. Whether you’re an emerging filmmaker, student, professional, or someone with a story to share, this festival is your opportunity to create meaningful impact through film.

Hi everyone,
We are excited to invite young people aged 18-35 to attend our Supported Decision-Making Journey Workshop: Know Me.
This workshop is developed and delivered by the Council for Intellectual Disability (CID) and hosted by Diversity and Disability Alliance (DDAlliance) for our peers and young people with disability in the wider community.
This workshop is designed to help participants learn more about themselves and build confidence in making decisions. It includes fun, hands-on activities that support people with different communication styles and support needs.
The workshop covers 3 simple steps:
1. Know Me – Understand what is important to you.
2. Express Me – Share your choices, goals, and preferences.
3. Support Me – Identify the people and supports that can help you make decisions.
When: Tuesday 21st July 2026 3pm-4:30pm

This week we awarded over $130,000 in Community and Micro Grants, for local organisations, community groups, businesses, and residents.across the Georges River area.

Our Grants program helps support projects that bring people together, build stronger connections, improve wellbeing, and create lasting positive change across Georges River.

Today 7th July 2026. Two staff and two peers represent Diversity and Disability Alliance to attending the Orientation and Presentation Community Grants 2025-2026. Round 2. Thanks to Georges River Council we have received $2,500. Award taken place at Hurstville library.
