Don't Strap Them In Don't Strap Them In is a campaign by non-Muslims for Muslims. Our aim is to battle the attitudes and beliefs of Islamophobic individuals in Sydney.

Our campaign began September 2016 when we witnessed a hate crime against a dear colleague because of their Muslim fate. A group of older Australian men jeered and yelled extremely hurtful things such as, “Go home, you brown threat!”, “Your kind isn’t wanted here”, and worst of all, “We should kill you before you bomb the s**t out of us.” These men ignored the rest of us and targeted our colleague

with their menacing words until we stepped in. As soon as we stood up for our colleague, the men angered and confused as to why we would defend a Muslim, sulked away. While we will never know just how hurt our colleague was, we realised our power in standing up for the ones we love. This is what our campaign aims to do.
