This NSW Public Education Week, we're celebrating the experiences that help young people discover their strengths, build confidence and shape their future.
For Hassan from Western Sydney, his Duke of Ed experience showed him the power of setting goals and taking on new challenges.
“Goal setting was huge. Whenever I sit down now, I think about what I want to achieve, not just doing something for the sake of it... Without the Duke of Ed, I would still be wondering what I wanted to do in the future.”
Today Hassan is studying biomedical science at university, working part time supporting other Duke of Ed students and running a photography business inspired by his Duke of Ed skill activity.
His story is a reminder that the skills young people develop today can open doors to opportunities they may not have imagined.
