Pink Hearts For All The Mums In Heaven 🩷
Losing my mum taught me something I never wanted to learn.
That no matter how old you are, you are never ready to say goodbye to your mum.
I spent the last five months of her life caring for her after she was diagnosed with lung cancer. Every day was filled with hope, fear, exhaustion, love, and a desperate wish for more time.
She wanted to be at home, surrounded by the people who loved her, and somehow we found the strength to make that happen.
Looking back now, I realise those months gave me something precious.
More conversations. More hand holds. More memories. More chances to say "I love you."
But even with all of that, it still never feels like enough.
There are moments when I still want to tell her something funny that happened. Moments when I need her advice. Moments when I simply miss hearing her voice.
Grief isn't just missing someone.
It's carrying a love that has nowhere to go.
Today, I'm sending a pink heart to every mum in heaven.
To the mums who loved us through every stage of life. To the mums who made ordinary days feel special. To the mums whose love continues to guide us long after they've gone.
We may not be able to see them anymore, but a mother's love never truly leaves.
It lives on in the people we became because of her.
🩷 Pink hearts for all the mums in heaven.
