Heart For Kids

Heart For Kids Heart For Kids helps children in China, India and Indonesia re-write life stories and turn around futures.

We're bringing change for orphans and children living in poverty, 1 by 1. Heart for Kids is a Christian non-profit organisation dedicated to helping children in poverty. The organisation believes that every child deserves a chance to succeed, regardless of their circumstances. We began around 2003 as ChinaHeart International taking teams to orphanages in China. That grew to include helping childre

n living very poor rural families to stay in school and gain the best education possible in their circumstances. In 2016 we changed our name to Heart For Kids

Heart for Kids works to provide education, food, shelter, and medical care to children living in poverty around the world. They work closely with local communities and partners to ensure that their efforts have a lasting impact. By providing children with the resources they need to thrive, Heart for Kids is helping to break the cycle of poverty and create a brighter future for generations to come. Through their work, they hope to inspire compassion and generosity in others, and to make a real difference in the lives of children in need.

❤️ As we approach the end of the financial year, we’ve been reminded again of what matters most…

Over the past few weeks, we’ve shared stories from the field — stories of children and families facing the daily realities of poverty.

💧 Children walking kilometres just to access water
📚 Young lives at risk of missing out on education
❤️ Families doing all they can with so little

Yet in each story, there is also hope. Because of people like you, change is happening.

Clean water is flowing in villages where there was none. Children are going to school with renewed opportunity.

Lives are being touched with care, dignity, and love.

✝️ We believe every child matters. Every story matters. And together, we can help rewrite those stories.

As EOFY approaches, there is still time to make a difference. Your gift today can help bring:

• Safe water to another village
• Education support to a child
• Ongoing care and encouragement where it’s needed most

If you’ve been thinking about giving, this is a powerful moment to act.

❤️ Thank you for standing with us, for believing in these children, and for being part of their future.

I want to tell you about a moment that happened just recently, in a small village in North India we’ll call Lakshmi Tola.

When fresh, clean water began flowing from a brand-new deep bore well at the centre of the village, the entire community stopped what they were doing and gathered around it. Children shouted with joy. Women filled their pots with tears running down their faces. Elders who had lived their whole lives in that village said they had never seen anything like it.

That moment did not happen by accident. It happened because of faithful people who chose to give.

A village that has known hardship

Lakshmi Tola is a rural community where life has always been difficult. Most families have no steady income. Men take irregular day labour when they can find it. When there is no work, there is no income, and sometimes, no food.

For years, one of their greatest burdens was water. The village's only hand pump drew rusty, unsafe water, and in the brutal summer heat it often stopped working entirely. When it did, the women and girls of the village had no choice. They would rise early, balance heavy pots on their heads and hips, and walk nearly three kilometres to a neighbouring village, and then walk three kilometres back. Every single day.

Through every team member visit, one request came again and again from the community: "We need clean water."

After a careful survey, it was decided to drill a deep water bore at the centre of the village. Recently, drilling reached 121m, and clean water came up.

A village of tents. A school of dreams.

Back in November 2024, I visited a village unlike any I'd seen before. Every family lived in a tent. And when morning came, the children didn't head off to school - because there was no school. Not for them. Not for their parents before them. Education had simply never arrived here.

We sat with the mums and kids, talked with our local partner, and asked: what if we changed that?

In June 2025, after prayer and preparation the Tent School opened.

We planned for 25 children. Most days, 45 showed up. Forty-five! You can't turn kids away when they're hungry to learn - so we fed them too. A hot meal every day. Our budget felt it, but our hearts were full.

Every single morning, before the first lesson could begin, the team would sweep out the classroom. Because overnight, the cows had been sleeping in it. (Yes - the classroom is a tent. A wonderful, life-changing tent.)

The children were learning. And that was everything.

Now we're into Year 2. Some of the mums and kids gathered for a small opening ceremony last week - and in just a few days, classes get underway again.

Forty-five children who might otherwise have nothing, walking into a tent each morning ready to learn. I still can't get over it. Praying for a wonderful yhear ahead 🙏

💧 Clean water has come to a village in North India, and lives are changing.

In a small village in North India, families from various faith backgrounds had faced a desperate water shortage for such a long time. When the old hand pump ran dry, women and children were walking 3 kilometres every day, in the heat, carrying heavy loads, just to collect enough water to survive. Families could only collect water during set hours, making every day a struggle.

This month, a 120m deep water bore well was installed, and clean, safe water now flows freely for the whole community. 🙏

"When our old hand pump dried up, we went to the government and many others for help, but no one came. Every two days I had to make the long journey by myself just to get enough water to survive. Today, this new bore well has brought great relief to my life and to our entire village. We no longer have to worry about where we will get water." A village elder, North India

This project is more than water. It is a practical expression of love, a community seen, remembered, and cared for. We are so grateful to everyone who made this possible through their prayers and generous giving.

We have also been working in this village for two years, and today there is a growing church, discipleship, and a community full of hope. Water opened a door, and God is walking through it. ✨

Opening a Door for Women - and the Children Who Depend on Them.

I want to tell you about a woman I'll call Priya*.

Priya is in her early thirties. She lives in a small village, in a home that often feels more like a prison than a refuge. Her husband struggles with alcohol addiction; most days, the man she married is lost somewhere inside that. The money disappears. The evenings are unpredictable. And Priya has learned, over many years, to make herself very small.

Not hundreds. Not thousands. Just seven.

That’s how we do things at Heart for Kids...one child at a time.

Right now, 7 children in a home in Indonesia don’t have sponsors.
They’re full of life and joy… but without support, basics like food, education and clothing become uncertain.

We recently spent time with them, and honestly, their spirit stayed with us.
The way they welcomed us, their openness, their joy… these are incredible kids.

They’re not invisible.
They’re known. They’re loved. And they’re waiting.

Would you consider sponsoring one of them?
It’s a simple step that helps provide stability, dignity, and a future.
Let’s make sure these 7 children are seen.

They are part of the H4K family, needing sponsors who you can meet at
