Congratulations to our 2026 Ricky Walford Shield winners! 🏆

Congratulations to all the students, schools and communities who took part in the 2026 Ricky Walford Shield Program in Walgett.

A special congratulations to St Joseph’s Walgett, who claimed the Ricky Walford Shield following their Grand Final victory over Burren Junction/Rowena.

Congratulations also to Burren Junction/Rowena on winning the George Rose Shield, and St Joseph’s Walgett on taking out both the Years 3/4 and Years 5/6 Jenny Wright Shield competitions.

For more than 30 years, the program has provided young people from regional and remote communities with opportunities to come together through rugby league and netball.

Leagues Clubs Australia is pleased to continue supporting this important program and congratulates everyone involved in delivering another successful carnival in Walgett.

LCA CEO Don Hammond had the pleasure of attending the NRL Parliamentary Friends of Rugby League City vs Country touch football game on Monday night at Allianz Stadium.

LCA is a proud co-sponsor of this event alongside ClubsNSW.

Congratulations to the Country team, coached by Brad Fittler, who won this year's event over City, which was coached by Anthony Minichello.

Thank you to our co-chairs - the Hon. Kevin Anderson and Member for Campbelltown, Greg Warren, and to all the politicians who took part in the event to support rugby league.

And thank you to the NRL for supporting another fantastic game day.

The Ron Massey Cup continues to play an important role in the NSW Rugby League pathway, providing opportunities for players, coaches, officials and clubs across the competition.

LCA’s support of the Ron Massey Cup reflects the longstanding relationship between licensed clubs and rugby league. Across NSW, clubs provide significant financial and community support to the game, from grassroots and junior participation through to facilities, development pathways and senior competitions.

Congratulations again to St Marys on securing back-to-back premierships, and to all clubs, players, coaches, officials and volunteers involved throughout the 2026 Ron Massey Cup season.

Back-to-back Premiers! 🏆🏉

Congratulations to the St Marys Saints, who have successfully defended their Leagues Clubs Australia Ron Massey Cup title following a thrilling 18–16 Grand Final victory over the Ryde-Eastwood Hawks at Campbelltown Sports Stadium.

After going into half-time locked at 12-all, the Saints held on in a tight second half to secure their second consecutive premiership.

Congratulations also to Zac Greene, who was named Player of the Match, and to the Ryde-Eastwood Hawks on a fantastic season.

LCA is delighted to continue supporting the Ron Massey Cup and the players, clubs and communities that make the competition such an important part of the NSW Rugby League pathway.

The Ricky Walford Shield Junior Schools Carnival returns to Walgett this August, continuing more than three decades of bringing young people from rural and remote communities together through sport.

Now in its 33rd year, the program will once again welcome schools from across North West NSW to compete in the Ricky Walford Shield, alongside the George Rose Shield and Jenny Wright Shield competitions.

This year’s program will also feature involvement from the St George Illawarra Dragons, delivering their The Best You Can Be health and wellbeing program to participating schools in the lead-up to the carnival.

Leagues Clubs Australia is delighted to continue supporting the the event that provides young people with opportunities to participate, connect and represent their schools and communities.

We look forward to another fantastic day of sport and community spirit in Walgett.

Leagues Clubs Australia was pleased to be part of the recent Brad Fittler Awards evening, celebrating the outstanding players, coaches and contributors across the game.

LCA CEO Don Hammond had the honour of presenting the Leagues Clubs Australia Ron Massey Cup Player of the Year Award to Joe Lovodua of the Ryde-Eastwood Hawks.

Congratulations to Joe on a fantastic achievement and a well-deserved recognition of his performances throughout the season.

LCA is proud to support the Ron Massey Cup and the important role the competition plays in providing opportunities and strengthening rugby league pathways across NSW.

Congratulations again to Joe and all award recipients on the night.

A great day of industry connection, knowledge sharing and professional development at Wenty Leagues.

As part of this year's Gaming Manager's Development Course (GMDC), participants had the opportunity to attend the Leagues Clubs Australia General Meeting, providing further exposure to the broader registered club industry and the issues, opportunities and conversations shaping the sector.

Following the meeting, attendees came together for a networking luncheon, providing another valuable opportunity for our GMDC participants to connect with industry leaders and colleagues.

Thank you to Wenty Leagues for hosting us and to our luncheon partners Coca-Cola Europacific Partners, Treasury W**e Estates and Carlton & United Breweries for their support.

Another valuable opportunity to connect, learn and continue developing the next generation of leaders across our industry.
