INDIGENOUS HONI 2024: PITCHES NOW OPEN

Hey mob! Indigenous Honi 2024 is happening, and we are now accepting pitches!

The First Nations Collective has a long history of decolonial politics and Indigenous Honi is a great opportunity to talk about what matters to our mob.

For inspiration, we've added some topics:
• Decolonisation and global Indigenous liberation
• The history of the First Nations Collective and why anti-racist organising is important
• Opinions on the University’s One Sydney, Many People strategy and its effectiveness
• Reflections on the Voice referendum and its impacts on our communities
• Racism and discrimination in healthcare and state-operated services
• Anti-carceral and police abolitionist politics
• The intersection between environmental justice and First Nations justice

Please use this form to pitch your ideas! If you have any questions or would like to workshop your pitch, please DM any of the Honi editors or one of the First Nations Officers.

Note that contributions are welcome from First Nations people and our allies from all communities! Pitches are due Wednesday May 1st.

Access Google Forms with a personal Google account or Google Workspace account (for business use).

The University of Sydney First Nations Collective supports South Africa’s case against Israel in the International Court of Justice. We offer this support without condition or reservation.

In supporting this action against Israel, we acknowledge the inextricable solidarity between Palestinians in Gaza and First Nations people in Australia. We reject the claims of so-called “Indigenous leaders” that the cause of Zionism is aligned with our communities’ values.

We call on all members of the International Court of Justice — the United States, Russia, Slovakia, France, Morocco, Somalia, China, Uganda, India, Jamaica, Lebanon, Japan, Germany, Brazil, and Australia — to stand with the oppressed and against the oppressor.

From the river to the sea, always was always will be.
