Entries close tonight for the Online Pairs League ♠️

Register by 8pm today, Friday, 9 October.

The Spring season begins on Monday, 12 October and runs across eight Monday evenings on RealBridge.

Enjoy a regular evening of online bridge with your partner, with divisions for different playing levels and just 12 boards each night. Play starts at 7.30pm, typically finishing before 9pm.

Club Collaboration Days begin in Armidale

The first Club Collaboration Day will be held at Armidale Bridge Club on Friday, 16 October from 10am–2pm.

Local clubs and Bridge NSW will explore shared challenges and opportunities, then work on practical strategies together. Strengthening the region’s directing capacity is one anticipated area of discussion.

Morning tea and lunch are provided. Participating clubs are asked to RSVP by tomorrow, Friday, 9 October.

This new program is about turning useful conversations into coordinated action between neighbouring clubs.

Congratulations to our regional champions 🏆

The State Pairs and Teams Championships Regional Finals brought together players from 11 regions on 26–27 September, across Open, Under Grand Master and Under National Master categories.

Congratulations to everyone who represented their clubs and regions, and to the pairs and teams progressing to the online State Finals.

Practical ideas to raise the profile of your club 💻

How can clubs help newer players move confidently from lessons into congress bridge?

A recent Bridge NSW webinar brought clubs together to share practical ideas: welcoming supervised sessions, partnership workshops, shorter event formats, pre-event information and friendly briefings about scoring and movements.

Illawarra Bridge Club, Orange Bridge Club and the Peninsula Bridge Club's Peninsula Starter Congress each showed how preparation, encouragement and positive early experiences can reduce anxiety and build confidence.

Good luck to everyone playing in this weekend’s NSW State Pairs and Teams Regional and Metropolitan Finals!

The Pairs Finals take place today, followed by the Teams Finals tomorrow, with players competing across regional venues and experience-based categories throughout NSW.

This is the first year of the redesigned championship pathway, creating more opportunities for players to compete closer to home and progress from regional competition to State honours.

We wish every player, director, host and volunteer a successful and enjoyable weekend.

The first Regional and Metropolitan Finals of the redesigned NSW State Pairs and Teams Championships are almost here. 🏆

The Pairs Finals will be played this Saturday, 26 September, followed by the Teams Finals on Sunday, 27 September.

Events will be held across NSW in three experience-based categories: Under National Master, Under Grand Master and Open. Players can enter a Regional or Metropolitan Final directly - they did not need to take part in a Club Selection Event.

Before leaving an event, take one final moment to check your scores.

Although one side enters the result into the Bridgemate and the other accepts it, mistakes can still occur. Under Law 79, an incorrect score can be corrected until the end of the correction period set by the Tournament Organiser - or, if none is specified, 30 minutes after the official score is available for inspection.

At Swiss events, receiving the result slip from the previous match may start that clock.

Checking before you leave makes it easier to identify and resolve any possible error while the other pair and director are still available.

Build your confidence at the bridge table - from home!

Bridge NSW’s free Online Supervised Play gives developing players a relaxed place to practise bidding and card play, ask questions and learn with support from experienced volunteers.

No partner is required, and teachers can reserve a table to play alongside their learners.

Sessions run every Sunday at 4.00pm on RealBridge, with the current series continuing until 27 September.
