We are deeply distressed by recent media reports regarding alleged harm to children involving Todd Soulas who once held a limited, non-operational governance position as Chairman at Reimagine. Abuse and exploitation of children is abhorrent, and our thoughts are with victim-survivors, their families, and affected communities.
For clarity, the individual previously served in an oversight capacity only and had no operational responsibilities, decision-making authority relating to programs, nor involvement in day-to-day activities. Reimagine does not provide services to children, and individuals in governance roles do not have contact with children nor engage in any child-facing work through the organisation.
Police have confirmed that Reimagine is not involved in any related investigations.
We provide this clarification to reassure our stakeholders that no access to children occurred through this individual’s former role, and there is no connection between the alleged conduct and our organisation’s work.
Our thoughts are with the children and families affected. We acknowledge the profound and lifelong harm that abuse causes, and we recognise the courage it takes for victims and families to come forward.
As a children’s peak body, child safety and wellbeing sit at the core of our values, advocacy, and policy work. We have zero tolerance for harm to children and are committed to systems that prevent abuse and uphold children’s rights.
Our Board is actively undertaking a review of all processes to ensure they continue to reflect best practice, community expectations, and our commitment to safeguarding.
We acknowledge and commend the important work of NSW Police and other authorities in investigating matters of this nature and recognise the critical role they play in protecting children and the wider community.
We stand with victim-survivors, and with vulnerable children and their families, and remain committed to advocating for strong, child-safe systems that prevent harm and support accountability, while upholding the safety and rights of all children.
