Would love to see this happen. โฃ๏ธ Sounds like an awesome initiative for a sometimes hostile environment. ๐ฒ๐
Dubai is considering a bold urban mobility project designed to reshape how people move through the city without relying on cars. The Loop is envisioned as a continuous, enclosed pathway that prioritizes walking and cycling across long distances.
The concept comes from urban design firm URB and aligns with Dubaiโs wider push toward healthier, more human-centered city planning. By encouraging active transport, the project aims to reduce traffic congestion and lower carbon emissions.
One of the most striking features is climate control, with internal temperatures planned around 23ยฐC even during extreme summer heat. This would make outdoor movement possible year-round in a region where temperatures often exceed 40ยฐC.
The Loop is also designed to run on renewable energy while integrating green spaces, water features, and smart infrastructure. These elements are intended to improve air quality and overall urban well-being.
If realized, the project could influence future city planning worldwide by showing how dense, car-dependent cities can transition toward sustainable and people-first mobility systems.
