If you’re a producer, self-producing artist and/or arts worker in regional NSW this is for you. The initiative has been designed to build your skills, connect you with industry professionals and increase access to practical knowledge and resources.

Here’s what’s on offer:

💚 Conversations with the CEO: The Year of Dichotomy 💚

This month in Tracey’s CEO letter she answer the question of what is the Creative Statement to Parliament & what it could mean for the arts in NSW.

While we’re hopeful that this will be a significant game changer for how the arts fits into the government agenda, we’re also dealing with the cost of living and the impact that’s had at the same time.

The result is what Tracey describes as ‘the year of dichotomy’, where despite real challenge, there’s room for real optimism.

📣 2026 ORANA ARTS SMALL GRANTS PROGRAM: Recipients Announced 📣

Orana Arts is pleased to announce that the 2026 Orana Arts Small Grants program will fund the following projects:

The Orana Arts Small Grants Program is the new annual program delivered by Orana Arts to support the development of arts and cultural activities across the four local government areas of Dubbo, Warrumbungle, Narromine and Gilgandra.

💚 THE REGIONAL ARTS FUND: Wide Desert Listening 💚

In May 2025, the Almiraj Sufi Centre presented Sufi Oz with Barkindji/Malyangapa songman Leroy Johnson in concert with a show called Wide Desert Listening. Funded by the Regional Arts Fund Project Grants, Wide Desert Listening was an interdisciplinary arts project designed to celebrate and explore the rich cultural heritage of Broken Hill.

The project was a key event in the Outback Sufi Conference, bringing together First Nation songs of Country with devotional qawwali music to pay homage to the connection between South Asian migrant and Indigenous histories during the exploration and colonisation of Australia. The aim was to bring together diverse cultural expressions and community groups to promote tolerance, social cohesion and understanding. It also re-presented, reinvigorated and reimagined the cultural heritage of Broken Hill, referencing sacred texts found at the oldest surviving cameleer-built mosque in Australia.

Regional Arts NSW is proud to have partnered with this project through the Regional Arts Fund. Wide Desert Listening is a testament to the power of the arts in promoting social cohesion and cultural understanding in regional communities and shows how important it is to fund regional creative practice. We look forward to future iterations of the project and the ongoing impact it will have in Broken hill.

✨ NOW OPEN: Regional Arts Fund Project Grants ✨

Applications for Regional Arts Fund Project Grants are now officially open!

The Regional Arts Fund is an ongoing program that provides approximately $6 million per year to support artists and communities in regional and remote areas across Australia.

The Project Grants fund high-quality arts projects benefitting regional or remote artists, arts workers, audiences and communities. The focus of the project could include any area of creative practice, multiple art forms or cross-disciplinary practice.

➡️ Applicants can apply for up to $30,000 for projects starting in 2027.
⏳ Applications close on Monday 17th August, 2026 at 11:59pm AEST

💚 REGIONAL ARTS FUND: Quick Response Grants 💚

Applications for Regional Arts Fund: Quick Response Grants are open for the 26/27 financial year.

These grants are designed to assist with urgent needs that may arise unexpectedly. This includes opportunities such as professional development, skills development, and small projects that require immediate attention.

Individuals can apply for up to $3000 and organisations up to $5000.

📅 Quick Response Grants are available on a monthly basis from February to November, with all applications being competitively assessed at the beginning of the following month.

Join Regional Arts Australia for a dedicated online information session designed to support Deaf and disabled artists to learn more about the Regional Arts Fund, ask questions and explore the application process in an accessible and inclusive environment.

You’re invited to DANCE DIALOGUES OUTSIDE THE CITY: BEYOND THE LIMITS a one-day gathering focused on the future of the Regional NSW dance sector.

Running concurrently to the IMPACT Festival 2026, the event shines a spotlight on regional dance practice, bringing together artists, organisations, advocates and sector leaders for a day of discussion, exchange and connection.

Through panels, roundtables, conversations, artist spotlights and networking, the event will support dialogue, visibility and advocacy while celebrating the diversity of regional dance practice.
