Set in 1970s Brisbane, 'Tenderfoot' follows Andie Tanner, a girl whose world is small, steady, and entirely her own. She has her father, her dogs, and a plan. Then she loses all three.

What follows is a portrait of a young woman learning to navigate a world far messier than the one she was promised, one shaped by secrets, addiction, and the particular loneliness of having to grow up before you are ready.

'Salt Upon the Water' follows Clarissa FitzRoy, a woman of mixed heritage who arrives on the shores of colonial South Australia in 1836 with two goals: to confront the man who shaped her past and to find her missing mother. What unfolds is a sweeping love story that moves across London, Venice, Calcutta and Penang, tracing the reach of the British East India Company and the lives caught in its wake.

This debut novel blends magical realism with historical detail and asks what it costs to reclaim the truth of who you are.

'I Want Everything" follows a young writer who stumbles across Brenda Shales, Australia's most famous literary disappearing act, and decides to do whatever it takes to get her story. The only catch is nothing about the way he gets it is honest. As Brenda's past unravels, so does his certainty about who is really pulling the strings.

This sharp debut novel by Dominic Amerena explores ambition, deception, and what we are willing to steal to get what we want.

At Copyright Agency, we recognise the importance of listening to and amplifying First Nations voices. We are committed to supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander creators, respecting cultural knowledge, and ensuring their stories are protected and shared ethically.

Reconciliation is an ongoing journey. This week, and every week, we reflect on our role in fostering respect, understanding, and meaningful change.
