What a great story! Perth local scientists and researchers joining forces to help people affected by bowel disorder. The research was lead by Dr Gina Ravenscroft from the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research.

Dr Gina Ravenscroft was featured in the latest issue of POST Newspapers. Read about Gina's research into a potentially life-threatening bowel disorder here:https://postnewspapers.com.au/wp-content/uploads/16022019.pdf

Hey Sydney! Do you want to have a march (or similar event) in 2019? Then we need a city lead! What does a city lead do? Well, here's a quick rundown:

-Be the voice for Sydeny on the national committee, the liaison and primary contact person.
-Organise and head up the local volunteers, and communicate any national decisions to your local team.

That's it! We know it may sound daunting, but we have a lot of resources for the city leads. We have information from the past events, pre-designed marketing information, ideas for fundraising, and we are always on hand to answer questions. We'll do everything we can at the national level to help out the individual cities.

Think you can handle it or have other questions? Send an email to [email protected], or send a message on facebook.

It's official! The date for 2019 has been set. May the 4th be with you and with Science!

There are going to be a few changes in the organisation in the coming months. We're looking for volunteers who can dedicate a couple to a few hours per week, either at the national level or for their local march. We're needing people with skills in all areas - logistics, IT, sponsorship, diversity and accessibility, media, etc, etc. Please share this with whoever you think might be interested.

We also need city leads for the following cities: Brisbane, Sydney, Perth, and Hobart. We currently have leads looking for volunteers in Townsville, Cairns, Adelaide, Melbourne, and Launceston. City leads will basically be the primary point of contact but don't worry, we have lots of information for you from past marches. You won't be alone!

Your city not listed? If you want to lead/volunteer for a different city let us know! We would love to have more cities on board! Want to help out at the national level, not in a specific city? We need more people there too!

Right now we're recruiting interest, but you can expect more information to come soon, and serious planning to start after the holidays.

If you're interested please send a message on FB or email [email protected]

Hello Sydney! You've heard Pint of Science AU is happening in Sydney, and three of the events have SOLD OUT! But the rest still have tickets left, some a lot and some less than 20! Can we help them sell out of the rest? Supporting events like these is critical for ensuring they continue in the future, to continue teaching and spreading support for science. Sydney was lucky enough to get a 12 events this year - let's make them count! Don't miss out on your tickets!
