Important Notice – Nepean River parkrun Cancelled This Saturday
It is with great disappointment that we need to advise our parkrun community that this Saturday’s Nepean River parkrun has been cancelled.
During our routine pre-event equipment checks, our defibrillator was found to have malfunctioned. Under parkrun policy, a fully functioning defibrillator must be available at every event. Without one, we simply cannot proceed.
We know this news will be disappointing for many. For some, parkrun is the highlight of their week. It’s a chance to catch up with friends, enjoy the outdoors, work towards personal goals, and be part of something special. Cancelling is never a decision we take lightly.
However, the safety and wellbeing of our entire parkrun family must always come first. While the likelihood of needing a defibrillator at any event is extremely low, having one available and operational is a critical part of ensuring we can provide the safest possible environment for everyone who walks, jogs, runs, volunteers, and spectates.
We are working to rectify the issue as quickly as possible and hope to be back on the river next week doing what we love.
Thank you for your understanding and ongoing support. We encourage you to visit one of our neighbouring parkrun events this weekend if you’re still keen to get your parkrun fix.
We’ll keep everyone updated as soon as we have more information.
Stay safe, and we look forward to seeing you all back at Nepean River parkrun very soon. ❤️
