Tehseen Younas, a Pakistani international student currently residing in Sydney, NSW, is facing severe and ongoing health challenges following a heart attack last year, his condition has progressively worsened, and his kidney function has now declined to only 10%.

In addition to this, his young daughter underwent major heart surgery last year. Tehseen is the sole breadwinner for his family and bears the responsibility of providing essential care and support for his wife, two daughters, and elderly mother in Pakistan. He has been hospitalised since 11 December 2025, placing his family under immense financial strain.

آسٹریلیا میں ایک پاکستانی انٹرنیشنل طالبِ علم کی وفات کو آٹھ دن گزر جانے کے باوجود میت کا پاکستان منتقل نہ ہونا نہایت تشویشناک اور ناقابلِ فہم ہے۔ اس تاخیر نے نہ صرف مرحوم کے اہلِ خانہ کو شدید ذہنی اذیت میں مبتلا کر رکھا ہے بلکہ بیرونِ ملک مقیم پاکستانیوں کے لیے سفارتی نظام کی کارکردگی پر سنجیدہ سوالات بھی کھڑے کر دیے ہیں۔
ہائی کمیشن آف پاکستان کی بنیادی ذمہ داری صرف رسمی کارروائیوں تک محدود نہیں بلکہ ایسے ہنگامی اور انسانی بحران میں فوری، مؤثر اور نتیجہ خیز اقدام ہے۔ تعطیلات کسی بھی صورت انسانی جان اور عزتِ میت سے بڑھ کر نہیں ہو سکتیں۔

We are writing to address the pressing matter concerning the repatriation of the remains of the late Nouman Habib, a Pakistani international student who passed away five days ago. Unfortunately, his body has yet to be returned to Pakistan due to delays from the Pakistani mission in Australia. We kindly urge the Pakistan High Commission to act promptly and address this situation with the seriousness it warrants.

Furthermore, it has come to our attention that a group of individuals, who were acquainted with Nouman Habib and his family, have been soliciting donations on gofundme.com under the misleading pretense that the family is experiencing financial hardship. Given that the family is financially stable, we appeal to this group to refrain from making false claims that misrepresent the family’s circumstances. Such actions not only cause undue distress to the grieving family but also undermine public trust in platforms like gofundme.com.

We sincerely hope for your immediate attention to these matters.

We kindly urge all members of our Pakistani and Muslim community to keep him in their prayers. Cause of death is yet unknown.

Condemnation Statement

The Pakistan Association of Australia (PAA) strongly and unequivocally condemns the recent brutal and cowardly attack on innocent civilians at Bondi Beach. This senseless act of violence is deeply disturbing and represents an attack not only on innocent lives but also on the fundamental values of humanity, peace, and coexistence that define Australian society.

Such acts of hatred and violence have no place in a civilised, diverse, and democratic nation like Australia. PAA calls for the swift identification of all those responsible whether perpetrators, facilitators, or those who planned or enabled this crime and for them to be held fully accountable under the rule of law.

We stand in unwavering solidarity with the victims, their families, and all affected communities during this painful time.

PAA urges all citizens to remain united and to support law enforcement agencies in their efforts to ensure justice, protect public safety, and preserve the peace, harmony, and social cohesion of our nation.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their loved ones.
