Heart Warrior Inayah was born with congenital heart disease and underwent five heart surgeries and a heart transplant before she was five.

Today, with her new heart, she’s swimming, dancing, horse riding, doing Little Athletics and dreaming of becoming a heart doctor so she can help other kids just like her. 🩰🐎👟🫀

On Wednesday 9 September, Medical Research Giving Day will help accelerate discoveries that could give more families a second chance.

Save the date and register your interest, so you’re ready to stand with families like Inayah’s on Giving Day. ❤️ https://www.medicalresearchday.org.au/VCCRI/?utm_campaign=mri_giving_day&utm_medium=vccri&utm_source=facebook

We were pleased to welcome Justin Clancy MP, Shadow Minister for Medical Research, to the Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute.

During his visit, Justin met with Dr Adam Hill and toured our Innovation Centre, learning more about the research underway to understand how genetic conditions and medicines can affect the heart.

Visits like these are an important opportunity to share the work of our scientists and the role medical research plays in improving the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular disease.

We look forward to continuing to advance this research and sharing the discoveries it enables with our community, as we work towards better outcomes for people affected by heart disease.

Thank you for visiting, Justin!

A chilly morning, a huge (Heartbreak) Hill and an even bigger show of support ❤️

We’re feeling incredibly grateful for the amazing runners who braved the cold to take on City2Surf in support of the Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute.

Thank you to those who fundraised to help power life-saving heart research, everyone who donated, and the many runners who spotted our team along the way and stopped for a photo — it was so fun to cheer you on! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

Seeing so many of you out there reminded us just how special our community is, and how much we can achieve together. 🫀🔬
