Introducing Meeras Pavilion: a large-scale interactive artwork to be installed at Customs House to raise awareness and connect audiences with Rohingya people.

Meeras means "heritage" in the Rohingya language, and the public artwork celebrates Rohingya culture and invites people to build a deeper understanding of the more than 1.2 million refugees who have been displaced or fled extreme violence in Myanmar since 2017.

It's the latest instalment of the City's Art & About program, which delivers everything from major installations to intimate exhibitions in unusual and unexpected places – part of our commitment to ensuring our streets are buzzing and culture and creativity is accessible to all.

I hope you can pop into Customs House between 25 September and 6 October to share in this intimate experience.
