🏆 Meet the Yr 6 - 8 winner of the 2026 Talk Money Financial Literacy in Action Awards: Northside Montessori School

High school coordinator Margaret Kroeger from Northside Montessori School in Pymble introduced a “Shark Tank” experience for students in years 7 and 8, designed to teach financial literacy in a way that is experienced and applied in meaningful ways.

“Most importantly, students emerged from the experience as capable young entrepreneurs with a deeper understanding of financial responsibility,” Margaret says.

🏆 Meet the K - Yr 6 winner of the 2026 Talk Money Financial Literacy in Action Awards: Narangba Valley State School

Year 6 teacher Carolyn Maroske feels strongly that financial literacy is an essential life skill, and decided that introducing a Classroom Money System for her students at Narangba Valley State School in Queensland was an invaluable way of encouraging positive money behaviour and engagement.

“Nothing makes me prouder than seeing a student struggling with counting money at the beginning of the year, to finishing the year confident with the way money works,” Carolyn says.
