Serbian Veterans and Descendants Association We march to remember their sacrifices, honour their victories and continue their legacy. Be part of our ANZAC Day 2026 march. DM for details. Lest we forget.

As we gathered before the march, we turned to God and prayed.

At the statues of General Draza and Vojvoda (Duke) Momchilo, wreaths were laid
our heroes, our legacy, our history… honoured and remembered.

Our men bowed their heads,
and said the Lord’s Prayer.

In that moment, everything else faded.
No noise. No crowd. Just faith.

Because for us, faith is not separate from who we are,
It is the foundation of it.

Our history was never carried by strength alone.
It was carried by God.

Through war, through loss, through generations…
when everything else was taken, faith remained.

It gave our people hope when there was none.
Strength when they were outnumbered.
And a reason to endure when the world tried to break them.

That is why we pray.
That is why we believe.

A reminder that those we honour are not forgotten
they are in His hands.

We don’t just remember with pride.
We remember with faith.

With God above us,
within us,
and before us… we continue.

Lest we forget. 🇷🇸

He’s too young to have lived it…
but somehow, he played it like he understood.

A young boy.
A trumpet.
And a song that carries more than sound.

Marš na Drinu echoed through the crowd…
and you could feel it in the silence between the notes.

Pride.
Pain.
History.

Because in front of him stood the sons, daughters, and descendants
of those who carried that story.

And in that moment…
it wasn’t just music.

It was memory. 🇷🇸

Today is why we exist.

On ANZAC Day, we don’t just gather, we honour.

From the first light at Blacktown and Canley Heights, our members stood in silence at dawn services, paying respect to those who gave everything for the freedoms we live today.

Among them were our youngest.
At 5am, they stood with pride and laid a wreath on behalf of St Nicholas Church, Blacktown .. a powerful reminder that remembrance is not just history… it is being carried forward.
Our Association stood united, alongside our brothers from the Serbian Chetniks Australia, laying wreaths in honour of sacrifice, courage, and legacy.

Now, together, we move as one.
Gathered at Bonnyrigg, on our way into the city, preparing to march.
Because we do not march for ourselves.
We march for those who stood before us.
For those who never came home.
For those whose stories live through us.

Our history is not forgotten.
Our respect is unwavering.
Our honour is carried in every step.
From the battlefields of the past to the streets we walk today
we are their continuation.

This is the purpose of our Association.

To remember.
To educate.
To unite.
To ensure their sacrifice is never lost to time.

Today, we stand together.

Generations side by side.
And when we march…
we carry them with us.

Lest we forget. 🇷🇸 🇦🇺

This is where it didn’t start

but where it continued.

Serbs preparing to march… decades ago.
Same purpose. Same pride. Same story.

The faces may change.

The mission never does. 🇷🇸

Not every powerful moment looks the way you think

A moment. A memory. A man. 🇷🇸
Uniform on. Legacy carried.

And somewhere in between… an ice cream.

Because even those who carry history
still live in the present.

Behind every march, every story, every sacrifice
there’s a person.

We don’t just remember history.
We live it. 🇷🇸

What you’re seeing here isn’t just history…
it’s where we come from.

Real people.
Real stories.
Real sacrifice.

Part 3

They lived through things most of us will never have to face
and because of that, we get to stand here today.

And we don’t take that lightly.

So we show up.

We remember.
We march.

Not out of routine
but out of respect.

Over the years, our community has come together to honour them.

Now it’s time to take it further.
We want more people to know.
More people to understand.
More people to march beside us.

This ANZAC Day, we’re not just continuing a tradition

we’re building something bigger.

Join us.
