𝐏𝐒𝐀 𝐂𝐏𝐒𝐔 𝐍𝐒𝐖 𝐃𝐈𝐒𝐀𝐁𝐈𝐋𝐈𝐓𝐘 𝐂𝐎𝐍𝐅𝐄𝐑𝐄𝐍𝐂𝐄 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔

Today, we are proud to host our first-ever Disability Conference in Sydney and online. This is a ground-breaking event dedicated to the experiences, voices and leadership of workers with disability across the public sector.

Nearly 7 per cent of respondents to the most recent People Matter Survey reported having a disability, far higher than the official government figure of 2.6 per cent.

The survey also shows workers with disability report lower wellbeing at work, less clarity about their roles, greater exclusion from teamwork and collaboration, and fewer opportunities to have their voices heard.

Our workplaces are strongest when they reflect the diversity of the community we serve. That means ensuring workers with disability are supported, included and able to thrive.

Today is about listening to our members, those joining us at PSA House and those taking part online, and working together to break down barriers, improve recruitment and workplace support, and ensure there is a place for everyone in the workplaces we cover.

The PSA CPSU NSW is here for all its members and together we will keep fighting for inclusive, supportive and accessible workplaces.

Today we went to the Sydney Children's Hospital and delivered the toys and gift cards donated by PSA staff and members.

Thank you for the amazing donations and your generosity. The Children's Hospital was extremely appreciative of the donations.

I am overwhelmed by everyone's kindness and the toys are going to such brave and courageous children.
