Australian Storytellers

Australian Storytellers Australian Storytellers: Is the brand name of The Australian Storytelling Guild, NSW. At Australian Storytellers, we celebrate the many voices of story.

We are a community organisation which welcomes anyone with an interest in oral storytelling. Storytelling is what happens when a story is told, face to face, eye to eye, mind to mind, heart to heart. The story is intimately known by the teller, spoken aloud, and shared, like a gift, with the audience. Known as the narrative oral tradition, storytelling is our first literacy. We invite you to join us and experience this oldest and living art form

From ancient myths and legends celebrating loyalty, courage, and companionship to humorous folktales featuring mischievous cats and clever dogs, this storytelling session will explore our enduring fascination with our four-legged friends.

Personal stories of beloved pets sit comfortably beside traditional tales of cunning tricksters, faithful companions, and extraordinary animal adventures. So join us for entertaining stories about our favourite animals with paws, claws and wagging tails.

The stories are told, not read.

This is a free online event organised by the Australian Storytelling Guild (NSW).

What if stage fright wasn’t the enemy, but simply energy waiting to be guided? Come to the ONE DAY WONDER storytelling Conference and participate in Priti Modyiyer's workshop 'Unfreeze Your Story' to move from Stage Fright to Story Presence

Shaking hands. Blanking out. Butterflies in your stomach. Every performer knows these feelings. The good news? Stage fright doesn't mean you're not ready — it means your body hasn't caught up with your story yet. In this practical, experiential workshop, you'll use proven techniques to rewire your body's alarm system and build a personal pre-show ritual so you can step into every performance with aplomb.

Every story begins with a spark. Learn how to shape yours into a story worth telling. Join Christine Greenough in her workshop -'Crafting Your Story for Telling' at the ONE DAY WONDER Storytelling Conference.

This workshop will give you tools to help tell your story. What is Story, and why we tell? Formula needed for a story to hold the Listener spellbound. We will look at the Hero’s Journey, plot, setting, characters, and from whose point of view is the story told. With these elements in mind, you will start writing (at least) an outline of what you want to tell. Please bring paper and pen.
