Delighted to share this heartwarming update from Casper’s family:
We unexpectedly lost our cat Loco to an undetected heart issue at the age of 4 last August, her twin sister Black Nose missed her so much as they were adopted as a bonded pair and had spent all of their lives together.
We miss our Loco girl dearly and were unsure if and when was a good time to get another cat. After 9 months Black Nose seemed to be getting really lonely and depressed and we felt bad leaving the house. When we saw Casper we knew he was the one, he looked like a gentle little soul who would be a good fit for Black Nose and who needed and deserved another chance at life after very sadly getting dumped.
It was a bit of a rough start with Black Nose and Casper (as it is with cats), but with lots of patience, love, reassuring Black Nose she still our baby girl, a lot of playing and after a lot of cleaning up of Casper’s p*e, we go there. Black Nose has now accepted the little fella they now groom together, and even sleep on the same bed together, not leaving much room for us.
Black Nose is still da boss, and Casper is now Black Nose’s personal trainer and is chasing Black Nose around the apartment helping her lose some weight.
We love the little fella so much he has changed Black Nose’s life and ours, he makes me laugh everyday and seems to channel Loco in many ways which is a nice memory.
Thanks Amy and Marc for going back to that abandoned house 2 months ago, to rescue our new little addition to our family, Black Nose say’s thank you she is no longer a sad girl she is now looks so much happier…loneliness is a horrible thing and no cat should ever have to go through that – Thank you SCAWS for all of your hard work, especially on those cold wet stormy winter nights when no one wants to leave the house, but you do to feed and rescue those furry animals who do not have the luxury of a warm shelter roof over their heads and a meal in front of them every night.
