🎖️ Celebrating Service Above Self: RCS Police Officer of the Year Awards

Last week, the Rotary Club of Sydney had the great honour of hosting our Police Officer of the Year (POOTY) Award presentation for the Sydney City Police Area Command (PAC) at the Castlereagh Boutique Hotel.

We were privileged to welcome five exceptional nominees, along with their families, friends, and senior police representatives, for a special club luncheon celebrating their outstanding dedication to keeping our community safe.

It is the unanimous view of our members that New South Wales has the best police force in the world. The professionalism, courage, and community spirit demonstrated by our officers day in and day out is truly second to none.

👏 A heartfelt congratulations to all nominees and a special salute to our award recipients! Your service inspires us and reminds us of the power of commitment to others.

The Rotary Club of Sydney is immensely proud to continue our strong partnership with law enforcement, and we look forward to supporting the state-wide NSW Rotary Police Officer of the Year Awards this November.

An Honour and a Privilege 🤝

This past Friday 3rd July, our Rotary Club of Sydney experienced a truly historic moment. We were privileged to induct Her Excellency the Honourable Sam Mostyn AC, Governor-General of Australia, as an Honorary Member at Admiralty House in Kirribilli.

Her Excellency's dedication to community service, social justice, and national unity are values we hold dear at Rotary. We are deeply honoured to have her as part of our club and look forward to the positive impact her continued leadership will bring.

More than four years ago, when the full-scale war broke out in Ukraine, the Rotary Club of Sydney started a project to support those most vulnerable and most affected by the war.

Through Sydney Rotary’s Wheels of Aid project, and with the help of our generous donors, volunteers, Rotary members and partner clubs, we have turned concern into practical support: power, transport and care.

We are deeply grateful to everyone whose support has made this work possible.

Unfortunately, families in Ukraine are still living with the daily reality of war: nights broken by air raid alerts, damaged homes and infrastructure, and communities facing disrupted power, water and essential services.

For displaced people, elderly residents, families with children, and those relying on community and aid delivery, the need remains immediate and ongoing.

The job is not finished. Please help us keep aid moving.
