It is with profound sadness that we share the heartbreaking news of the passing of our beloved Rabita June Ishtar Jako, a cherished member of our community whose loss will be deeply felt by all who knew and loved her.
It is incredibly difficult to lose someone so dear to our hearts.
Today, we have lost a remarkable woman, Rabita June, who dedicated more than 40 years of her life to serving our beloved Assyrian community.
June was deeply active in our community, working tirelessly alongside her husband and fellow community committee members across social, political, religious and educational spheres. Her service was truly selfless. For more than four decades, she gave her time, knowledge and heart to our people, particularly through her commitment to the Assyrian’s Nation Association and Assyrian Nissibin School, helping preserve our language, culture and identity for generations to come.
Her love for our rich Assyrian history was profound. Her knowledge was vast, and her passion for sharing it was even deeper. Even after years of learning from her, we were still learning something new every day through her incredible knowledge and understanding of our history.
She was a truly unique individual courageous, generous, intelligent and deeply humble. Her dedication to education and to preserving our language, culture and history was something that could be felt by everyone who had the privilege of learning from her.
No one can fill the void left by Rabita June.
Our community has lost an invaluable, devoted and irreplaceable figure a woman whose contribution will continue to be felt for generations to come.
Today, we honour her life, her service, her knowledge and the love she carried for our people.
With deep sorrow and sadness, on behalf of the Assyrian’s Nation Association and Assyrian Nissibin School committee members, we say:
Rest in peace, Rabita June. You will remain in our hearts and minds forever.
We extend our deepest condolences to Rabita June’s beloved family members during this incredibly difficult time, and our thoughts and prayers are with you all.
Alaha Manyekhla.
