*Agenda & Discussion Points*
*1. University Drive – Overgrown Grass*
Landcom confirmed ongoing discussions with UWS and Campbelltown Council regarding University Drive. Both University and Council currently hold differing interpretations concerning the nature strips. Each party will review the matter internally with their respective teams. Landcom will continue discussions and provide updates to MHCG. Concern was also raised regarding overgrown grass along University Drive.
*2. Sports Field Development*
The sports field is scheduled to open in 2026. Final drainage works will be completed towards the end of construction, with the ground’s final form differing upon completion. MHCG requested Landcom to share the design, which has been recorded as an action item.
*3. Amenities Building*
Construction of the amenities building is scheduled to commence in 2026, with estimated completion and opening in 2028. MHCG requested Landcom to share the design, which has been recorded as an action item
*4. Regional Trail – Botanical Garden*
The Macarthur Heights side of the regional trail is expected to be completed by 2026. Council and the Botanic Garden will be responsible for delivering the connecting sections.
*5. Macarthur Garden North (MGN)*
- Roads, super lots, and two parks are expected to be completed by end of 2025, with public access available in 2026.
- Two Development Applications (DA) are currently lodged with Council.
- Super lots will be sold to future developers; one lot adjacent to the basketball courts will be released to market shortly.
- Temporary security camera will be installed around the MGN site.
- Permanent security cameras will be installed within MGN parks, in accordance with Council’s risk assessment.
*6. CCTV*
MHCG sought guidance from Landcom regarding installing CCTV at strategic points along University Drive and Goldsmith Avenue. Landcom advised that Council had conducted a Crime Prevention Assessment with the LAC (Police), which did not support installing cameras in Macarthur Heights but recommended them for Macarthur Gardens North, possibly due to the difference between a more crowded area versus open space. However, this does not prevent us from continuing to pursue Council for the installation of CCTV cameras in the future.
