Watch Saul Griffith on Australian Story.
Last night the ABC caught up with our founder and Chief Scientist Saul - in the US and here in NSW, where families are busy electrifying their homes. There was even a sneak peek of our new online tool - Electric Saul.
As Saul says: "I can find many reasons for hope. There are large trends - sometimes economists call them mega trends - that are just irreversible. Electrification is one of them."

With over 100 connected community groups in our network, there's always something happening somewhere.

These events are a great way to meet other people passionate, interested or even curious about electrification in your own community. Check out these new events listed and see if you can make it, details are in the comments.

"You have to keep saying we can do this." That's Saul Griffith on Australian Story this Monday.

This follow-up episode catches up with Saul in the US, where the climate agenda has been dismantled with striking speed. As Saul says it's a dark time to be a climate person there.

But it’s a different story in Australia where renewables are being embraced at scale. The pilot programs that started as a neighbourhood experiment near Wollongong have expanded. Households are making the switch in their droves, energy bills are coming down and EV sales are soaring.

Saul's conclusion? "I can find many reasons for hope."

Watch Australian Story, ABC, Monday June 8, 8pm or catch up on ABC iview.

We know that many renters are missing out on the energy transition. But, what if they were given a subsidy to access a battery some have sitting in their driveway.
Our new analysis shows the very welcome vehicle-to-grid technology (which our CEO Francis Vierboom is getting installed) could save renters up to $2,000 a year using their EV or plug-in hybrid to store cheap daytime power and use it to power their homes in the evening peak.
We're calling on the government to open up home battery rebates to bidirectional EV chargers, so more households can access savings. Reported in News.com.au today. You can learn more about our new analysis in the first comment below.

No one says it straighter than our Founder and Chief Scientist, Dr Saul Griffith.
There’s a powerful fossil fuel lobby working to slow Australia’s shift to electric homes. Our new practical tool Electric Saul is our answer and it’s coming soon.
Help us raise $50,000 to Electric Saul into the hands of families across the country. donate.rewiringaustralia.org/poweringelectricsaul

They spent nearly 10 years figuring it out - solar first, then appliances one by one, then a battery when the timing was right. Now their power bills are $150/yr instead of $2,300/yr.

We're building Electric Saul to scale those savings.

Electric Saul is Rewiring Australia's free tool that compresses that journey into a single personalised plan - what to upgrade first, what it'll cost, and what you'll save. Built on years of Saul Griffith's electrification research and real household data. No guesswork.

We're raising $50,000 by 30 June to get Electric Saul into 20,000 Australian homes. Your donation is tax-deductible.

When we show people the actual numbers - 2¢ per kilometre on Australian sunshine versus 23¢ for petrol, 400,000 home batteries installed in under a year, energy bills dropping to almost nothing - people don't need convincing to electrify. They just need support to make it happen for them.

We need your support to help thousands more families across Australia go electric. We’re building Electric Saul, a new online tool to put Saul's expertise, advice (and sunny disposition) in the hands of everyone with a laptop and smartphone - and help more people decide to replace a fossil-fuelled machine with an electric one.

Donate now to get this online tool into 20,000 Australian homes.
