July 2026 marks 25 years since Global Community Development Initiatives began from my home. At the time, my son Taahaa was still a toddler, and he came volunteering with me everywhere. I am grateful this journey has kept me connected to the Africa I love so deeply.
Today, we are registered in South Africa, Malawi, and Tanzania. Our outreach has always extended beyond Africa, with projects supporting Rohingya communities in Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh, as well as communities in Palestine, Afghanistan, and Australia.
Our Purpose.
We believe no community should be forgotten. Around the world, many small, remote, and under-resourced communities miss out on services, education, and opportunities. The larger organizations don't reach them. We aim to reach smaller communities.
Our work focuses on reaching these communities and supporting them in practical, inclusive, and sustainable ways.
Our Approach.
We believe communities should lead their own change. We work with communities, not for them, by:
Listening to local knowledge and community priorities.
Supporting local leadership and participation.
Designing projects together based on real needs, identified by the people in the community.
Building skills and capacity for long-term outcomes.
Communities are not just beneficiaries — they are partners and leaders.

We are committed to making sure support reaches the people who need it most.
We keep our organisation simple and cost-effective. We do not spend on advertising or unnecessary administration. Instead, we rely on community networks, social media, and word of mouth so that more resources go directly to communities.
