Well that was awesome!! ๐ŸŽ‰

Thank you for a fabulous, relaxed (and a little bit strenuous!) Sunday morning, EPIC friends. Cremorne Point showed off at its finest, and Mosman Rowers was the perfect spot for our relax, hydrate, chat, chat and more chat.

EPIC Walks are more than a frivolous "gatho" of parents of young people. They are connecting, self regulating, informative, fun events that bring the village back into parenting young people.

Thank you to everyone who joined us, and to those who couldn't make it today too. The walk itself is the heartbeat of EPIC, and that heartbeat ripples out to our whole community. Everyone is included, even from a distance.

See you at our next walk, Freshwater, on 16 August ๐Ÿ’•

A beautiful morning spent at Long Reef Headland!

We wandered from Collaroy, across Fishermans Beach to the Long Reef lookout, then returned for a well earned coffee and chat, 14 of us connecting, sharing, providing hope.

Organic conversations about schools, hobbies, recipes, psychologists, the FIFA World Cup, tyre repairs, Jenny Brown's new book Parenting Paradox, the EPIC petition, the 7 Bridges Walk... anything and everything just happens.

That's the magic. When parents navigating mental health and educational systems for their young people connect and share in a safe, nonjudgemental space, they are putting on their own oxygen mask, filling their cup so they can keep supporting the ones they love.

Thank you to everyone who joined us today. For those who couldn't make, we look forward to seeing you soon.

Thank you Northern Beaches Council for your support of families in our community.

Have a lovely week everyone,

Mads

Back Parents. Back Youth Mental Health. Sign the petition.

Every parent wants their young person to thrive.

For years, families supporting a young person through mental health challenges have carried it mostly alone.

We're asking the Australian Government to fund peer parent support as permanent national infrastructure.

Funded. National. Permanent.

It takes 30 seconds to add your name.

Back Parents. Back Youth Mental Health. Join the EPIC Community Meetup. Thursday 23 July, 7.30pm

For five years we have been with parents listening, walking alongside and have had enough of a system that sends your young person home from hospital with no support, suspends a struggling child for not showing up, and ignores the calls of parents who are doing everything they can.

Thank you EPIC Community for sharing in the survey what EPIC means to you. I don't want that information to sit dormant. I want to share what we are doing about it.

We have launched the Back Parents. Back Youth Mental Health campaign and I want to bring the community together online to walk you through what we found, what we are doing, and what you can do right now.

The first is Thursday 23 July, 7.30pm. I'm happy to provide another during a lunch hour if you would like. If you'd like, I can do Thursday 23rd of July or Friday 24 July, 12.30-1.30pm.

EPIC is proud to be one of ten local charities pitching at Community Pitch 2026, hosted by Community Bank Lindfield.

Here's a way you can get involved and help.

Bendigo Community Bank Lindfield are inviting local businesses and individuals to come together, form a table, and become a Pitch Partner. Pitch Partners pledge a minimum of $500 on the night, which can be shared across the charities pitching, including EPIC.

Where: Magpies Waitara, 37 Alexandria Parade, Waitara. Tuesday 25 August 2026.

Why: This is a wonderful way to give, together, as a community, while supporting a number of local charities in one night. It is such a fun night out, full of community connection and meaningful giving, and every pledge makes a genuine difference.

You can read more and register as a Pitch Partner here
https://kfsl.com.au/community-pitch-event/

If you would like to know more about EPIC, or how your pledge could support our Peer Parent Training Program, please reach out to me at [email protected]

Big thanks for being here!
