Parents of teens and young adults: free Youth Mental Health First Aid in Warriewood on Saturday 17 October.

It's practical training in how to spot when a young person is struggling and how to help. Parents who've done it say they wish they'd done it sooner.

This YMHFA training has been made possible thanks to the support of the Sydney North Health Network and Northern Beaches Council

Warriewood - Saturday 17 October, 8.45am-4.45pm. Youth Mental Health First Aid equips adults who care for young people with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to recognise, understand and respond to a young person experiencing a mental health problem or mental health crisis.

Join us this Sunday for our Lane Cove National Park walk! Parents and carers of young people are warmly welcome for a scenic stroll along the river, followed by BYO refreshments and a relaxed chat.

🚙 Free parking along Lady Game Drive. Parking inside the park is $8 (free with a National Parks Pass) and the gates open at 9am

Here we are in October, with a long weekend ahead and, for some of us, in the midst of the first week of the school holidays. It's a chance to relax and replenish, while acknowledging that changes in routine can be tricky for some families. The community is here for each other through all of it.

Four questions, two minutes, to understand the cost of youth mental health to families.

When a young person becomes unwell, the costs arrive fast. Assessments. Specialist gaps. Hours dropped or work left behind to keep them safe. Parents tell us constantly that the financial side is one of the hardest parts, and one of the least talked about.

EPIC is applying for funding to build a free resource. Plain language guides covering what a diagnosis costs, what Medicare and Centrelink cover, how NDIS access works, and your rights at work.

Everything online and free.

Funders need evidence. Our collective experiences can prove the need.

The survey is anonymous - no names and no email addresses, and everything is used de-identified. Skip any question you would rather not answer.

Sunday is the EPIC Freshwater walk (again:) meeting at Harbord Diggers at 9am for a walk/chat/relax.

The weather is looking HOT!! Sunny and 30. Bring sunnies and hat!

Parking: Free parking in the club (need to sign in to walk through), also free parking along Lumsdaine Drive if you're lucky.
Bring: Water, hat, swimmers??

The EPIC Cremorne Point walk is on Sunday at 9am. Come along! It's going to be a cracker day.

The walk follows the track toward the lighthouse (with the water on our left) and return to make it back by 10.15ish for a relax and refreshments.

Anyone not up for the walk you can meet us at Mosman Rowers. Grab a long table if you get there first!

EPIC Springtember to you!!

September feels hopeful. Parents are being recognised as crucial in supporting the mental health of our young people. There's a long way to go, but together our voice is being heard. Through EPIC, support is being given by our local councils, the Sydney North Health Network and our community to equip parents in this most significant role.

What a night!!

EPIC was one of ten local charities pitching at Community Pitch 2026, hosted by Community Bank Lindfield, and we are still on a high!

Thanks to the generosity of everyone in that room, EPIC received funding towards our Peer Parent Training Program. This means more parents with lived experience, trained and ready to support other families through youth mental health challenges.

The room was full of kindness and connection, and every community organisation and Pitch Partner was held in a beautiful, safe space to allow meaningful conversations and incredible generosity, thanks to the care of the Community Bank Lindfield team
