Behind the scenes our talented Catering teams work hard to bring the very best dining experiences to the residents! 🧑‍🍳✨

Representatives from Meyer Food Co. met with Catering team members from our Residential Care Villages in Basin View, Berry, Benhome and Cessnock recently to plan for our central village menu.

The teams went through product demonstrations and tasting sessions as part of a rigorous feedback process to ensure we are maintaining our commitment to high quality food and food service within the villages.

As you can see from the bright smiles, the tasting events were a massive success!

Creative inspiration has been flowing beautifully at our RFBI Coffs Harbour Masonic Village 🍂🎨

The residents have been loving autumn themed watercolour painting sessions, bringing a gorgeous burst of seasonal colour to our community. The best part? The inspiration for these masterpieces came directly from the residents themselves.

Our village photography group captured stunning autumn scenes during their regular local walks and our painting group then used those exact photographs to inspire their own watercolour art.

This wonderful collaboration is what life at RFBI is all about. By connecting different interest groups, our Leisure & Lifestyle teams foster a warm, supportive environment where older Australians can share their unique talents, practice fine motor skills and try new things together.

A beautiful sense of community and a lot of shared laughter filled the room recently at RFBI Hawkins Masonic Village ☕🍰

Residents and staff from both our independent Retirement Living and our Residential Care Villages joined forces to host Cancer Council Australia's Biggest Morning Tea, raising vital funds for cancer research.

The room was buzzing with a lively trivia competition, lucky door prizes, a blind tea-tasting challenge and boxes of delicious homemade cakes and slices. A massive thank you to our retirement living exercise group for their generous $500 donation, which helped bring our total raised to an incredible $1,146!

There was absolute excitement and so much laughter at our RFBI Tamworth Masonic Village when two very special four legged guests dropped by for morning tea! 🐐💛

Our residents thoroughly enjoyed patting, holding and chatting to a pair of adorable Nigerian dwarf goats. This wonderful interactive visit sparked beautiful conversations across the lounge, with many residents reminiscing about their past family pets and sharing fond memories of growing up on farms.

Special sensory visits like these are a key part of the diverse lifestyle schedule put together by our team. They help keep the residents connected, engaged and mentally stimulated, while bringing a beautiful sense of comfort and home to our village.

A massive thank you to Dirtroad Barnyard Mobile Petting Farm for bringing the goats in and creating such a memorable morning for everyone. Our residents are already counting down to the next visit!

If you're heading down to Bunnings Goulburn this Saturday, make sure you pop past the barbecue to say hello to our wonderful team! 🌭🧅

On Saturday 20 June our dedicated teams from RFBI Goulburn Masonic Retirement Village and RFBI Goulburn Masonic Village will be firing up the grill to host a classic community sausage sizzle.

Every dollar raised from the day will go directly towards our RFBI Benevolence Program. As a not-for-profit organisation, fundraising initiatives like this allow us assist individuals, families and communities in time of need through the provision of financial assistance, medical equipment, funding for research and health programs.

Come grab a delicious sausage sandwich, chat with our lovely staff and support a fantastic cause that helps Australians live with true dignity and peace of mind 💛

We're thrilled to introduce you to one of our wonderful volunteers, Andrew Bayly, who has brought a beautiful wave of energy and heart to our RFBI West Wyalong Masonic Village family 🚌💛

After relocating from Townsville in January, Andrew was eager to keep giving back to the community and quickly joined our team as a volunteer bus driver. He combines his driving experience with what he enjoys most: helping residents stay active, independent and connected.

A beautiful example of Andrew’s compassionate approach happened around ANZAC Day. After overhearing a resident and fellow veteran mention that he would love to attend the local Dawn Service and march, Andrew stepped in without hesitation. He organised a bus trip so residents could attend the service and proudly marched alongside them in the parade.

It was a magical moment that speaks volumes about Andrew’s willingness to listen and to act with ultimate kindness.

Please join us in saying a massive thank you to Andrew in the comments below for his incredible generosity and the genuine care he brings to our community!

There was a beautiful taste of Italy at our RFBI Concord Community Village recently! 🍝

Our dining room was completely transformed into a warm, inviting Italian bistro as part of our monthly Travel the World celebrations.

Our wonderful Leisure and Lifestyle team went all out with the decorations while our talented Catering team prepared a magnificent spread of authentic cuisine filled with rich flavours and fresh ingredients.

These monthly cultural lunches are a crowd favourite for our community at Concord. We believe that food is one of life’s greatest pleasures and a wonderful way to bring people together. It's all about creating tailored experiences that offer a diverse menu well beyond standard dining, ensuring residents live with a true sense of joy and purpose.

RFBI recognised World Elder Abuse Awareness Day (WEAAD) today across our teams. 💜

In RFBI Bellingen Masonic Village our local team came together for an interactive discussion focused on advocacy, safety and empowerment. Safeguarding older people isn’t just a policy for us - it is at the very core of who we are and a responsibility we proudly carry every single day.

To mark the day several staff members completed their own Purple Pledges, visually committing to uphold the dignity, rights and unique wellbeing of the residents we support.

Whether it’s providing a listening ear, creating inclusive spaces or advocating for the residents' choices, our team is dedicated to ensuring every individual in our care feels safe, valued and respected.

It was wonderful to have some sunshine over the weekend for our gardening groups to get outside and play in the dirt.

We have many keen green thumbs across our villages who either care for their own gardens in our Retirement Villages or tend to the communal gardens in our Residential Villages. It is always marvellous to see them hard at work! 🪴🫜

"Innovation does not begin with technology; it begins with attention. When we pay close attention to the lived experience of residents, families and staff, innovation becomes an act of care." - Frank Price, RFBI CEO.

This week Frank joined Aged Care Research & Industry Innovation Australia (ARIIA) in Sydney for a panel exploring Financial Sustainability Through Innovation: The Future of Aged Care.

Innovation is critical to the way we operate at RFBI and why we seek ongoing feedback from our staff, residents and their families. It's also why you'll often see Frank and other members of our leadership team regularly at our local villages listening, learning and understanding the day-to-day so we can continue to grow and evolve the way we deliver care to you and your loved ones.
