The Australian Government introduced updates to home care funding on 1 October.

The good news is that Personal Care (which includes assistance with essential daily tasks that help you maintain your health, hygiene, dignity and your independence) can now be fully funded by the government through your support plan.

That can mean no out-of-pocket expenses for eligible individuals.

Our dedicated Care at Home team is here to help you navigate these updates smoothly. We can look over your current My Aged Care statement with you and help adjust your care hours so you get the maximum benefit from your plan.

Aged care is at a pivotal moment.

As reforms continue, expectations rise and demand for services grows, it’s more important than ever that we have open and honest conversations about what it will take to build a sustainable aged care system that delivers the dignity, care and support older Australians deserve.

Our Chief Executive Officer, Frank Price, is helping to start those conversations by sharing his perspective on some of the challenges and opportunities facing aged care – from workforce and funding to future capacity, sustainability and what meaningful, person-centred care should look like.

And sometimes, getting people talking calls for a different approach. In a recent feature published by HelloCare, Frank discusses why RFBI has turned to creative storytelling and satire to draw attention to some of these challenges and encourage a broader conversation about the future of aged care.

While there’s some humour in the videos, the message behind them is serious: how do we create an aged care system that is sustainable for the future while keeping older Australians at the heart of every decision?

On Wednesday 14 October 2026 residents, staff, community members and volunteers will be walking side by side to raise vital funds for the RFBI Benevolence Program, helping support people in need.

Whether you're walking, cheering from the side lines or joining us for the celebrations afterwards, we would love to have you involved at one of our events taking place in Armidale, Bellingen, Coffs Harbour, Glen Innes, Moonbi, Raleigh Urunga and Tamworth.

We're still drooling over the aroma of freshly baked treats from our Dubbo Great Bake-Off 🤤🧁🍰

Residents, staff and visitors recently gathered at RFBI Dubbo Masonic Village for a wonderful day of community spirit, great food and friendly competition.

Three mouth-watering entries impressed our judging panel, which was made up of Council representative Josh, staff member Kai and resident judge Earl. After careful tasting and much deliberation, the winners were announced with plenty of applause.

The festivities continued with exciting raffle prizes, a delightful morning tea and a BBQ lunch enjoyed by all. It was a fantastic afternoon that brought our whole community together!

A big thank you to everyone who baked, judged, volunteered and joined in the fun.

A cancelled concert won't stop us from having fun ☀️🫧

When a band was unable to make their scheduled performance at RFBI Berry Masonic Village, our resourceful Leisure & Lifestyle team quickly turned the day into a spontaneous outdoor celebration.

With the sun shining brightly, staff gathered as many residents as possible outside in the garden. Upbeat music was played, bubbles filled the air and the whole area came alive with joy! Everyone was singing along, and a few residents even got up to dance.

The afternoon received so much positive feedback from our residents that we've decided to make this outdoor gathering a regular event once a month!
