National Volunteer Week is here, and we’re celebrating the incredible volunteers who make Girl Guides possible. 💙

Every week, across NSW, ACT & NT, our volunteers show up with kindness, creativity, encouragement, and heart — helping girls and young women build confidence, make lifelong friendships, and discover what they’re capable of.

This year’s theme, “Your Year to Volunteer”, is a reminder that one decision to get involved can make a lifelong difference for a girl finding her place in the world.

To every Girl Guides volunteer: thank you for the time, care, and passion you give so generously. This week is all about celebrating you and the impact you make every single day.

Tonight at Junior Guides, the girls learnt how to decorate cupcakes using fondant. They even made the Guides Australia trefoil logo with fondant to celebrate World Thinking Day, in which we commemorate Girl Guides and Girl Scouts around the world. This years marks 100 years of World Thinking Day and we love being part of a world wide movement that empowers girls!

All this rain must be good for the grasses, shrubs and trees that Eastwood Junior Guides and Guides planted for National Tree Day in the wildlife corridor beside Shrimpton’s Creek and ESL Park in North Ryde. The girls found lots of worms as they worked and enjoyed a sausage sandwich and a drink at the end. It was great that so many families came along to help.
