💚 Our SCCALA Principal with her NSW Council for Pacific Communities hat on!

We’re proud to acknowledge our SCCALA Principal Pamela Toleafoa Christensen in her capacity as the Women’s Initiatives Senior Portfolio Lead with NSW Council for Pacific Communities

Pamela recently attended Clarence Correctional Centre in Grafton, alongside members of NSWCPC and the Number 8 Prison Project

It’s wonderful to see Pamela continuing to contribute her time, leadership and experience across initiatives that support and strengthen our wider Pasifika community.

SCCALA TAKES ON THE AUSTRALIAN MUSEUM!
A little late posting, but this day was too good not to share! 💚
Our SCCALA students and families had an amazing day exploring the Australian Museum in Sydney — learning, discovering and making memories together. ✨
This was SCCALA’s second visit to the museum and it was just as exciting this time around.
It was wonderful seeing our students so curious, excited and engaged outside the classroom.

A huge thank you 👏🏾 to Elijah Lemusuifeaualii, Wansolmoana Connect Officer at Australian Museum and dear supporter of SCCALA, for making this excursion possible for us.
The activities, walk through history of the islands, Geography lesson that had all of us especially our students interested and engaged, maybe also competitive for some adults 🤭Tufosa Savea 😂
We then ended the day with an amazing picnic at Hyde Park, courtesy of Elijah and Australian Museum.

Lastly, big thanks to the teachers, parents and families who helped make this special day possible. 🌺

As a point of interest, there is an amazing kids' area, dedicated to the Pacific Islands. Here you can learn dance moves with former Miss Samoa Moemoana Schwenke from Fiji, Tonga and Samoa.
You can also listen to Sina and the eel in different languages-a Samoan ancestral story, fondly known by our Sccala Inc students, as we published our very own version this year.

Today we celebrate and acknowledge the love, strength, guidance and sacrifices you give to your families and communities.
We also remember with love the fathers and grandfathers who are no longer with us, but whose teachings, memories and legacy continue through their families. 🤍
