When we were younger, many of us thought our elders talked too much 😂

“Respect people.”
“Learn your language.”
“Remember where you come from.”
“Family first.”

Back then, it felt like another lecture.

But the older we get… the more their words start making sense.

Our elders were not just teaching rules. They were trying to protect our identity, our culture, and our connection to each other ❤️

Sometimes reconnecting with Samoan culture starts with simply listening to the wisdom that was already around us growing up.

What is one lesson from your parents, grandparents, or elders that makes more sense to you now as an adult? 👇
