Transparency post for last night's kitchen...

Our girl J contributed $5 and a passerby gave us $100.😇😇

I got such a great surprise when Kellie messaged me to say she'd popped some money into our account...when I saw how much, I was floored. This lady has been one of our staunchest supporters since Day 1. Her generosity has kept us open during some of our roughest times...thank you for being part of our community and always having our backs. 😇🥰

We are looking sweet till the new year now😊🥳

There's always two sides of the coin in motion at Martin Place. Last night was filled with laughter and catch ups with some of the guys and girls that we haven't seen for a long time. There was also one of the longest lines we've seen in a while and we rallied around someone suicidal, trying our best to advise of services and to comfort and support😪

Had some lovely surprises too.🥰 One of our ladies came up to me and said she didn't want any food because she had acquired some part time work. She then handed me $5 and insisted on making a contribution. A lady from the general public walked up and handed us $100 and simply said 'I hope this helps.' It does!🥰

Our amazing contributors Chris and Martin from The Golden Pavilion Wine & Dine Revesby and Ming from The Old Town Hong Kong On Barangaroo provided delicious, nutritious meals. We had so many compliments on the food last night.
🤩🤩🤩

Anna, Rachael and Kathryn joined us with snacks, toiletries and clothes and Todd brought in big boxes of fruit. Our pensioner R brought in cake, lollies and snacks🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰

Our local businesses came through for us again with sandwiches, rolls and a delicious salmon salad.😇😇

Linda supplied us with toiletries that disappeared quickly...thank you😇

If you can assist in any way...please message our page🖤💛❤️

So blessed to meet some amazingly generous and caring people through our kitchen.

Linda and Patrick are two such people😇😇
I came home yesterday to a box of handmade beanies and a big bag of toiletries delivered to my door.

These guys constantly ask us what we need and then deliver. Be it clothes, food, coffee supplies or toiletries.

They really think about our guys, come up with ideas to help them and then get us to run it by them before they buy/make things. Giving people the opportunity to make decisions is a gift in itself🥰

Transparency post for this week's kitchen. We did our regular 3 monthly shop, which was so much cheaper because of the generous contributions of coffee, Milo and milk made by our amazing community 🥰

We bought cups, forks, butane and a few coffee supplies😊

Always a fun night when some of the old crew pop in. Thanks so much to Rachael, Marj and Kathryn for bringing in all the food and clothes. 🥰🥰🥰

Our amazing supporters Chris and Martin from The Golden Pavilion Wine & Dine Revesby and Ming from The Old Town Hong Kong On Barangaroo supplied nutritious, restaurant quality meals that kept us open until after 9pm. Some of the guys insisted that we tell them how delicious their food is and how much it is appreciated.🤩🤩🤩

Anna brought in snacks and good cheer and a local cafe contributed sandwiches, wraps and sweet pastries. Our pensioner R, brought in sweet and savoury snacks.😇😇😇

A big thank you to Linda for the much needed toiletries and the Golden Pavilion for the quail eggs, dried mango and other interesting snacks 🥰

If you can help in any way, please contact our page.😊

Thanks so much to Martin and Chris from The Golden Pavilion Wine & Dine Revesby and Ming from The Old Town Hong Kong On Barangaroo!! No matter what, they always step up and make sure we have delicious, hot, restaurant quality meals to give our community...we wouldn't be open without you guys🤩🤩🤩😇😇😇

On such a freezing night, we were so lucky that Linda contributed socks and some amazingly warm, hand-knitted beanies...the guys and girls that we gave them to were so appreciative.

Our amazing pensioner R made the trek in and supplied Korean snacks and lolly pops🥰 One of our guys came past late at night and swapped us the kransky sausages he bought for dinner for one of our delicious hot meals. We said he didn't need to but he insisted on contributing food as he now had enough to eat. Anna popped in for a while, bringing in snacks and good cheer🥰

A local office brought down some hamburgers and the local church gave chocolates and fruit salad.

Want to give a big thank you to patrons of The Golden Pavilion...Jenny and Warren. They contributed Milo and soap and deodorant which were highly sought after.

And of course our guys all jumping in...unpacking, serving, collecting contributions and packing up...a lot of people chipping in to make our kitchens work🥰

If you are ever able to contribute any items and would like to come and spend the night with us, please message the page and we can tell you how we run🥰😊

Some of these photos are from last Friday night when the South Maroubra SLSC Nippers joined us, and some are before last Christmas when Val and her team of parents and kids from St Ives North Primary School came in for what has become a yearly occurrence.

Club President, Stretch and Nippers Registrar, Mary and the families from SMSLSC fundraised and used the funds raised to buy enough pizza to supply our kitchen for the whole night. They are using the rest of the funds raised to buy some pizzas for the next few weeks so that we have a variety of food to offer. It was so lovely to meet all the kids and was impressive to see how they served everyone with kindness and respect.

Val and her crew from St Ives North Primary School come in every year just before Christmas. The parents and kids fundraise, make delicious, nutritious meals in take away containers, bring desserts and make up care packages for our community. We're watching these beautiful kids grow into amazing young adults who have an understanding of the societal issues around poverty and homelessness, and who respect people for the value they offer to the world, not their position in life.

Are you a school group or a sporting association, who could fundraise in one of these two ways, and then come in and join us for a night of food and laughs? It could be once a year or just a one time event. If that sounds like you please message our page and we can discuss the details with you, so you can see if it is something you want to do. No obligation 😊

What a night...some young people just blow me away with their maturity, compassion and kindness.🤩

Had the pleasure of meeting the junior committee of the South Maroubra SLSC last night. These amazing young people fundraised enough to supply pizza for the whole night (plus extra that they will use over the next few kitchens to buy more pizza) and also make an amazing contribution of tea, coffee, sugar, Milo, milk and biscuits for our coffee station and they brought in heaps of toiletries. So thank you Liam, Nicholas, Emily, Makayla, Luca, Antony, Billy, Sophie and Olivia...can't wait to see you again. Even our grumpy server D asked..."Are those kids coming again next week?"😂🥰 They really were amazing🤩

Of course amazing humans come from amazing humans...the adults that came with these kids mucked in, chatted, served and had a laugh with us...thanks so much to Club President Stretch and Nipper Registrar Mary who put a lot of time and effort into getting this night together🤩 Also a big thank you to the Diana, Ashley, Pete, Linda, Karen, Fuji and Kelly....was so great to meet and chat with you guys. Thanks so much to the entire South Maroubra Surf Life Saving Club community for your generosity.

Need to also make a special mention of Todd...he was the instigator behind the South Maroubra Nippers heping us. He also brought boxes of fruit for our guys. Todd was introduced to our kitchen by Rachael, who was helping around Martin Place with Lanz for a long time...so amazing to see our community growing...likeminded people making a difference.

Of course when we get pizza from Domino's Pizza Sydney CBD, Michael and Nat are giving from their own pockets. Not only do they give discounted pizzas and free delivery, they also add extra pizzas to our order. These guys have been on board since day one and they have been involved with the street kitchen since the days Lanz was running things🤩🥰

We had one of our pensioners bring in pantry items and biscuits and two of our local cafes contributed delicious sandwiches and pastries. One of our ladies also contributed some clothes.

We were happy to give our amazing supporters Chris and Martin from The Golden Pavilion Wine & Dine Revesby and Ming from The Old Town Hong Kong On Barangaroo the night off...our guys missed their delicious Chinese meals though😇😇😇...again these guys used to help Lanz with the street kitchen.🤩

Linda had given us so many toiletries over the last few kitchens that we still had enough to put some out last night😇

Nobody wanted to leave last night...we had enough pizzas to stay open till 10pm and there was about 10 of us left, laughing, joking and giving each other sh*t😂🥰

Our first kitchen of the new year of the Fire Horse was on Friday night...optimism, energy, perseverance, positive mindset and compassion 🎊🔥🐴

I bought some biscuits this week because we had no snacks at all but we didn't even use them due to the generosity of our community...

Anna brought in biscuits and her specialty limited edition chip choices, for us all to try and critique, and the generous souls at The Golden Pavilion Chinese Restaurant at Revesby gave us cakes biscuits, nuts dried fruit and amazing New Year apples that had us Googling how they are made...they actually put a sticker on the fruit when it is still growing on the tree...amazing...lot of conversation about that🤓 🥰

On top of that, Linda and Patrick met us at Revesby again, giving us bags and bags full of homemade muffins. They were even in snapblock bags with the flavors written on them so we could tell people the flavours and they could choose their favourite. 😇😇

Our amazing businesses that have supported us for years came through yet again last night. Chris and Martin from The Golden Pavilion Wine & Dine Revesby and Ming from The Old Town Hong Kong On Barangaroo provided us with delicious meals and Michael and Nat from Domino's Pizza Sydney CBD gave us pizza, garlic bread and free delivery on our orders.
🤩🤩🤩🤩

Our community is just so amazing...people give what they can, when they can. We have people with us who have been helping on and off for years...Ivy and Mahesh contributed pizza which went down a treat coz we rarely have pizza these days😇😇 and Bella and Ray rocked up with chicken and potato bake which was something one of the guys asked them for last time they were in😇😇🥰...one of our pensioners came in with pantry items and biscuits 😇🥰

We had our amazing lady J arrive with a mate and brand new shoes and Tanya came in to join our community and have a coffe and a laugh. Linda contributed toiletries, which she does for every kitchen, and they are always warmly appreciated.🥰🥰🥰

Our barista was late on Friday night so a couple of other guys jumped in to do coffee...thanks J and C. That left our barista with time on his hands to model with our contributions😂😂

Funny, friendly night🥰
