Tour de Cure Australia

Tour de Cure Australia A community raising funds for cancer research. A cure for cancer is out there. Moving towards a cancer-free future

We know a cure for cancer is out there.

We're doing everything we can to help Australia's cancer researchers break new ground to find it. And we’re doing everything we can to help Australia’s cancer researchers break new ground to find it. Raising money to fund cancer research is what Tour de Cure is all about – here’s some of the ways you can help bring the vision of a cancer free future closer.. From humble beginnings in 2007, the Tou

r de Cure community has grown to become a national movement of thousands of people, walking, running, riding and swimming to raise awareness and inspire support in the fight to cure cancer. The generosity of our supporters has enabled us to fund 797 cancer projects and we’re proud to have contributed to 129 scientific cancer breakthroughs. Thanks to our supporters, we're getting closer to our dream of a world without cancer, but there's still an urgent need for more effective treatments to improve survival rates and quality of life.

A very special day for a very special Step Out ambassador 💛

This week, Kyan had the chance to spend time with his sporting heroes, the South Sydney Rabbitohs - including his all-time favourite player, Jai Arrow.

For Kyan and his family, who know first-hand the impact childhood cancer can have, it was an experience to remember - and that smile says it all. 😊

A huge thank you to the Rabbitohs for welcoming Kyan and his family, and to 7NEWS Sydney for capturing the moment and sharing his story.

Join Kyan and his family at Step Out for Cancer on Sunday 11 October, where the South Sydney Rabbitohs will be supporting the day with a special activation, as we come together to help end childhood cancer.

Sydney! Join us next Wednesday for Cures & Connections 💛

We’re bringing the Tour de Cure community together for a special evening with researchers from the Garvan Institute of Medical Research to hear first-hand about the progress your support is helping make possible.

Associate Professor Liz Caldon and Ellie Tsz Yau Mok will share insights from Tour de Cure-funded breast cancer research exploring why some oestrogen receptor-positive (ER+) breast cancers can return years after treatment - and a potential new avenue researchers have identified for targeting these difficult-to-treat cancers.

It’s a chance to go behind the research, meet the people driving it forward and see the real impact of our community in action.

📅 Wednesday 26 August
⏰ 6 - 8pm
📍 Tour de Cure HQ, Eveleigh

We’d love to see you there!

Yesterday the Suncorp Brisbane contingent stepped out in style to walk 21km or 10km around the city and raise funds for cancer research, support and prevention initiatives.

The team didn’t let a spot (or several) of rain spoil their day, donning umbrellas and ponchos to carry on along the route in style.

With a local grant given to the Leukaemia Foundation Philip Desbrow Blood Cancer Centre accommodation facilities, the participants were reminded what a difference a few extra dollars on their fundraising page can make.

To make a difference yourself, donate today at https://spirit-to-cure.com.au/

Last week, on Wednesday 5 August, Tour de Cure and the Olivia Newton-John Cancer Research Institute (ONJCRI) paired up to present the first Cures and Connections event in Victoria.

Graciously hosted by IAG at their Melbourne office, the event was an opportunity to hear about where some of our annual grant funding goes in real terms.

Along with our very own VIC Event Lead, Tim, and VIC Committee Chair, Reg, attendees also heard from (L-R): David Mann (Tour de Cure CEO), Damien Gallagher (CGU & WFI Executive GM), Chloe Jackson (ONJCRI PhD student who has received Tour de Cure PhD funding, focus on bowel cancer), Liam Neil (ONJCRI PhD student who has received Tour de Cure PhD funding, focus on breast cancer), and Paul Cortissos (patient advocate with lived experience of blood cancer).

When Cancer Wellness Support received funding through Tour de Cure’s 2025/2026 Annual Grant Round, the support meant more than simply delivering a project. It was another step in building better access to lymphoedema care for people living with cancer.

D. Shepherd from Cancer Wellness Support shared:
“Tour de Cure has supported Cancer Wellness Support in so many meaningful ways over the years. This latest funding is particularly significant for us. Strengthening our capacity and capability in lymphoedema management is one of Cancer Wellness Support's key strategic priorities, particularly as access to affordable, specialised care continues to reduce across our region.”

Applications are now open for the 2026/2027 Tour de Cure Grants Round, supporting cancer research, prevention and support initiatives across Australia.

There’s ONE WEEK LEFT to submit an Expression of Interest.
🗓 Applications close 21 August 2026
