It is with great pride and gratitude that I announce Anamaria Rivas and George Zorbas have been awarded the Special Service Award in today's Scouts Australia Adult Recognition Awards on World Scout Day.
The Late Anamaria Rivas has been recognised for her service to Scouting at 1st Narellan, 1st Cobbitty/Oran Park and Razorback Scout groups in many roles over the last 5 years.
Through her commitment and dedication to these roles, Anamaria has provided essential support to these Groups, guiding them in their growth and evolution, and providing sound financial wisdom to ensure their viability, financial security and the purchase of new and improved equipment.
Despite failing health in late 2025, Anamaria’s commitment to Scouting was unwavering. It is with profound regret that Anamaria is not with us today to receive this Award, but her legacy of service and dedication to the Scouting community will live on and she will be forever in our hearts.
George has been recognised for his service to 1st Narellan and Razorback Scout groups as Secretary and Treasurer, respectively, over the last 9 years.
Providing sound secretarial and fiscal support, George has graciously given of his time and energy, willingly and conscientiously providing regular and sustained support and ‘on the ground’ assistance at all fundraising efforts held by these groups.
Although George has stepped down from these roles, he continues to remain a supporter of Scouting at 1st Narellan.
