If you’re outdoors these holidays, make sure you take the insect repellent. Mosquitoes can carry diseases such as Ross River virus, which has been detected in parts of NSW including Greater Sydney.

Avoid bites by:
• covering up while outside,
• avoiding outdoors at dawn and dusk
• applying insect repellent on exposed skin
• using vapour dispensing units and mosquito coils
• covering openings such as windows and doors with insect screens.
