📚⚡The UnCensor[Ed] || Read. Riot. Rebuild. Repeat.

Tired of tutoring that treats you like a NAPLAN robot? 🤖

These April holidays, join The UnCensor[Ed]: A radical, anti-colonial learning cohort for high school students who want to read texts and the world.

We’ll link the English curriculum to real life, right now.

We read, write, reflect, and make art.

We process trauma with care and get curious about the world.

Only 10 students per group. Because real thinking doesn’t happen in crowds.

👥 Who?
High school rebels only. The ones who knew Toni Morrison should’ve been on the syllabus from day one. If you’re done with dead white men telling you what “great literature” is, this is for you.

📚 Yrs 11-12: 8am-10am (Early birds get the worm... and the theory)
🔥 Yrs 9-10: 11am-1pm (The sweet spot for spicy debate)
🌱 Yrs 7-8: 2pm-4pm (Big brains, early stages)

📖 What?
A renegade reading riot where we ONLY examine texts by First Nations, Black, and Femmes of Colour. No apologies. No diversity tokens. Just page-turning, spine-cracking work centered on abolition and liberation.
We read, we rage, we rewrite the whole damn canon.

🕒 When?
Week 2 of the April school holidays.
Monday 13th
Tuesday 14th
Thursday 16th
Friday 17th

📍 Where?
Dharug Land. Location TBC.

🤔 Why?
Because your education has been curated by colonisers.
Because liberation isn’t extra credit - it’s the whole syllabus.
Because the people most silenced have the most to say.

🛠️ How?
Facilitated by experienced, qualified and quirky educators.
We show up. We read together.
We talk back to the text.
We imagine worlds beyond this one.
No assessments. No grades.
Just revolution and good snacks.

💰 Investment (for high school students only!):
✊🏿Solidarity - $250
✊🏾Standard - $150
✊🏽Supported - $80

Lest We Forget is a daytime dance event centring First Nations, Black & brown women & gender-diverse artists whose cultural labour, creativity & resistance have shaped, challenged & subverted the violences of empire.

This is not a commemoration of nationhood.

Instead, it is a celebration of the survival, brilliance & joy of communities who have always carried culture forward, often unseen, often unpaid, often unacknowledged.

Lest We Forget gathers community on unceded First Nations’ land to dance, witness & celebrate the artistry of Black & brown femmes & gender-diverse DJs.

It is an offering of
🌀pleasure as protest
🌀rhythm as remembrance and
🌀joy as a reclamation of space

The event foregrounds First Nations sovereignty, global south futurisms & the ancestral lineages that continue to guide us. It centres the cultural, musical & organising labour of women and gender-diverse people of colour, those who have historically done the work of building movements, holding communities & imagining liberated futures.

We are the mainstream is proud to present the inaugural Festival of Rage, a groundbreaking event dedicated to a radical idea:
🔥 that our rage is not a flaw, but a formidable force.
🌊 that our grief is not a life sentence, but a source of profound depth and power.
💪🏿 This is not a protest of anger, but a powerful proclamation of our collective strength.

This day-long sanctuary invites guests on a transformative journey to during the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence to:
1. ACKNOWLEDGE the righteous fury and profound sorrow caused by gender-based violence (GBV).
2. EXPLORE our collective and personal strategies for not just surviving, but thriving.
3. ALCHEMISE our pain into beauty, our grief into joy, and our survival into gratitude.

The Council of Fire - Expert Panel Discussion
We begin by breaking the silence with a panel of luminaries: lived-experience survivors, trauma specialists, and community leaders. This is not a conversation of victimhood, but one of warrior wisdom. They will share their stories of rage, their paths through grief, and the powerful coping mechanisms that have allowed them to reclaim their power. This is a foundational session of truth-telling, validation, and collective strength.

The Forge of Creation - Art & Making Workshops
We then move from discourse to creation, believing that while the body keeps the score, the hands can help rewrite the story. Participants will choose from immersive workshops designed to physically transmute emotion into art, transforming inner turmoil into tangible beauty and power.

Join us for this vital gathering of reclamation and radical joy.

we are the mainstream is an antifascist collective. This event is not a safe space for carceral, casteist, TERF, SWerf, or zio “feminist” ideologies.

Ia year that comes off the back of continued global crises, Labor’s policy failure and the continued genocide of First Nations and Palestinian people, join us as we meet with Deputy Leader of the Greens, Dr Mehreen Faruqi over an intimate potluck meal.

Hear about her plans for the campaign for people and planet and how we can all organise and mobilise to deliver change.

Community care and curiosity has never been more urgent.

She is deeply committed to improving diversity and ensuring parliaments are truly reflective of our streets and suburbs as well as pushing to dismantle the systems of power, privilege and patriarchy.

She has been the strongest voice on Palestine in Parliament and has continually called out the ongoing genocide in Gaza as well as for an end to the occupation and apartheid.

Last year was an incredibly difficult year. But amid the grief, we have been able to build the foundations of a strong community rooted in justice, equality and human dignity. It’s important to remember that during these times, solidarity and community are the antidote.
