Zia Forum Australia Zia Forum Australia, we seek to uphold the memory and ethos of former Bangladeshi President Ziaur Ra In past years, we have been very active in the community.

• To nurture the Bangladeshi culture and heritage among the people of Australia.
• To stand alongside the community in case of natural calamity or disaster; and
• To support needy people in our community when necessary. Our key achievement has been two successive ‘melas’, community fairs which brought together many segments of the community. In total, around 5000 were in attendance, and we generat

ed media coverage in Bangladeshi newspapers in Australia and Bangladesh. The melas will comprised of a cultural show including both domestic and Bangladeshi artists, different types of rides, food, toys and clothing shops.

"we are deeply saddened by the passing of Begum Khaleda Zia, former Prime Minister of Bangladesh and President of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP). We are shocked by her death, We also know that the entire Bangladeshi community in Australia is deeply shocked by her departure, and we pray for her soul. We offer our full respect for her legacy of democracy and her contributions to Bangladeshi politics in establishing and strengthening democracy. She fought for democracy for a long time, even while under detention for many years. We hope that Bangladesh will honor her legacy and respect her democratic movement always. We are hopeful that, in tribute to Begum Khaleda Zia, Bangladesh will once again reestablish a democratic system after this long period. May her soul rest in peace."
