Last week we celebrated the incredible achievements of participants who have successfully completed the Steps to Safer Parenting (SSP) and Bringing Up Great Kids (BUGK) programs.
These photo's was taken during a special celebration marking the completion of both programs, a moment to acknowledge the hard work, growth, commitment, and connections that have been built throughout the journey.

Completing a parenting program is about so much more than attending sessions. It takes courage to show up, share experiences, reflect on challenges, learn new skills, and embrace opportunities for growth. Each participant brought their own unique strengths, stories, and perspectives, creating a space where learning, support, and encouragement could flourish.

Throughout both programs, participants explored ways to strengthen family relationships, better understand children's needs, build confidence in their parenting, and create safer, more nurturing environments for their families. These are powerful steps that can have a lasting impact for generations to come.

At Junaya, we are honoured to walk alongside parents and carers from all backgrounds as they invest in themselves, their children, and their futures. The dedication, honesty, and resilience shown throughout these programs have been inspiring to witness.
We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to our valued partners at MCC Macquarie Community College for their ongoing collaboration and support in delivering the Steps to Safer Parenting (SSP) Program. Partnerships like these help create meaningful opportunities for individuals, families, and communities to thrive.

To all our graduates, congratulations. Last week was a celebration of your commitment, your growth, and the positive changes you are creating in the lives of your children and families. We are proud of what you have achieved and look forward to seeing where your journey takes you next.

Another huge and successful week of training and facilitation with our community

This week was filled with connection, laughter, learning, culture, and strong community participation from start to finish. The energy in every program (Safer Steps to Parenting, Bringing Up Great Kids, RAP-P and Deadly Mobs Deadly Bonds) was incredible, with both children and adults fully engaging, supporting one another, and bringing such positive vibes into the space.

Culture remained at the forefront of everything we delivered, creating a safe, welcoming, and empowering environment for everyone involved. It was beautiful to see community leading conversations, sharing experiences, building confidence, and walking together through learning and growth.

A big thank you to everyone who attended, participated, and helped make this week such a success. Community is, and always will be, at the heart of what we do, See you all next week….

Exciting News for Junaya Aboriginal Corporation ‼️

We are so proud to welcome Kim Naden as the new Chief Executive Officer of Junaya Aboriginal Corporation.

Kim is a proud Weilwan woman from Central West NSW, raised on Wiradjuri Country, with strong family and cultural connections to Kamilaroi Country through her grandmother and family ties.

Coming from a strong matriarchal family connected through the Naden, Reid, Weldon, Goolagong, Fernando and Morgan families, Kim has always carried culture, kinship and community at the centre of everything she does.

For the past 25 years Kim has lived and worked on Darug Country, while staying strongly connected to both her Mother’s and Father’s Country in Western NSW through family and community.

Kim brings more than 25 years experience working alongside Aboriginal communities across government and community sectors, with a strong focus on advocacy, relationships, justice, policy and creating real change for our people.

Kim is deeply passionate about supporting Aboriginal children, families and communities through culturally safe, community-led approaches that value identity, lived experience and connection.

Kim believes in walking alongside community, listening, learning and building stronger outcomes together, and we are incredibly excited for what this next chapter means for Junaya and the communities we work with.

Please join us in giving Kim a big warm welcome to the Junaya family ❤️

Today, on National Sorry Day, we remember the children who were taken, the families who were broken, and the generations who continue to carry the pain of those policies.

We honour the strength and resilience of our Stolen Generations survivors — our Elders, our families, our communities.

Sorry is important, but sorry without action is empty.

Truth-telling, healing, justice and self-determination must lead the way forward.

For Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, this day is not just history — it is lived experience, carried through generations.

Today we stand in remembrance.
We stand in strength.
We stand together demanding action, not just words.

Junaya Aboriginal Corporation was proud to take part in the Reconciliation Walk held on Saturday 23 May 2026 at Dawson Mall, Mt Druitt.
Our team joined community members in walking together towards healing, unity, and stronger relationships, while also connecting with families and services through our community stall on the day.
It was wonderful to see so many people come together to acknowledge the importance of reconciliation and to celebrate culture, connection, and community spirit.
Thank you to everyone who stopped by to yarn with us and walked alongside the community.

Come on down to Dawson Mall - its going to be a great day! Reconciliation Walk starts at 11am
