Anthropology enthusiast and peasant, Alex, will be walking us through the generations from the 13th century to the present day at the Queanbeyan Medieval Festival this wekeend 26-27 Sep @ 3pm on both days of the event.

He'll be demonstrating that regardless of individual famous ancestors, we're all Peasants!

She will be discussing possible techniques & interpretations, and demonstrating hair lacing on both days of the event @ 2.30pm.

This weekend 26-27 Sep at the Queanbeyan Medieval Festival you can pose with the peasants and peasant-ing equipment!

Put your best peasant look on and join the world famous (in our minds) Revolting Peasants for piccies straight after our 'Year in the Life of a Peasant' demonstration, around 1.45pm on both days of the event!

What do you do all week? Is it as interesting as what a medieval peasant did?

Peasants had a surprisingly varied calendar and each month had a different focus. The work was not without its perils though.

The Revolting Peasants present 'A Year in the Life of a Peasant' - a whirlwind exploration of the tasks and daily life of 13th century peasants over an entire year packed into just a few minutes! The presentation will be given on both days of the Queanbeyan Medieval Festival this weekend, 26-27 September @ 1.15pm. And we will need volunteers so come along, summon your inner peasant and give us a hand 👩‍🌾🧑‍🌾

It has taken a full moon cycle for us to process our experiences (and photos 😅) from the biannual (once every two years) Gathering event where reenactors come from far and wide to meet once more and kick off the new season. Details in captions.

Even the table is all aquiver! 😅

The excitment is simply palpable as we kick off the 2026 living history and re-enactment season at The Gathering. This is a reenactor-only event bringing together groups from far and wide to reconnect, relax and prepare for the year ahead.

We'll be preparing more peasant dad jokes and bad puns! And, of course, bringing more history to life.
