We enjoyed a lovely Sunday morning at Tunks Park, another fully-booked bird walk (with a waiting list) despite the forecast of rain. We needn't have worried, conditions were perfect and we saw 35 species with plenty of other wildlife too, I heard my first Channel-billed Cuckoo for the summer. Thanks to all that attended including Andrew Scott from North Sydney Council who started the annual walks in 2018!!! (we even did a virtual 5k radius zoom during Covid).
Looking forward to September 2027.

I enjoyed doing a recce for an upcoming walk for the Hills council, my first visit to Heritage Park got off to a great start seeing a pair of Topknot Pigeons feeding in a fig tree as I pulled up. There was also a pair of Common Bronzewing, plenty of parrots and a nice mixed flock of bush birds with 23 species recorded for the morning. Looking forward to the main event on 10th October

A huge thanks to all that attended our 6th annual birding and bushcare walk, and to Councillor Robin Cook for the mention and Penrith City Council for their usual expertise in hosting. Despite cool, overcast conditions we managed to record over 30 species with plenty of small bird activity. I managed to add 10 more after the event, as the sun made an appearance allowing for some photography
