Reminder: Join Max Solling to explore Waverley Cemetery 21 May

Explore one of Sydney’s oldest, most beautiful and most historic locations – Waverley Cemetery. We’ll visit the final resting places of prominent Australians, including many from Glebe. Just a few places are available including transport to and from and a guided walk. Thursday 21st May, 9.15 am – 12.45 pm.

Note: Parts of the cemetery are fairly hilly. We will cover bitumen paths and uneven grassy paths, so wear appropriate walking shoes!

Glebe Eats! We invite you and your friends to the next ‘Glebe Eats’ event, on Tuesday June 30 at Lahore2Delhi, 131 Glebe Point Road from 6pm. A set menu, for sharing, at $50 per head (pay in cash on the day) includes vegetarian and non-vegetarian options. BYO beer, wine and soft drinks. Soft drinks available at the restaurant at extra cost.

Tour the Sydney Heritage Fleet Shipyard on Rozelle Bay
This tour takes us through the Fleet’s extensive maintenance and restoration facilities, looks at Fleet vessels, then boards the ferry Kanangra to hear her history and view the restoration now underway.

Blue wren sightings!
It’s the time of year when young birds disperse so worth looking out for them on sunny days this autumn.’
These are classic stepping stone movements for wrens, absent from Glebe for years. More mangroves in particular, could create more habitat stepping stones.

Bidura developer applies for state significant development assessment
Work on Bidura, a heritage-listed house that fronts Glebe Point Road, seems to have stopped.
An application was lodged to make the site subject to assessment as a ‘state significant development’. .If successful, this would bypass consent granted by the City of Sydney.
