Big things are happening at White City. 💙

Every week, the vision for the new Hakoah becomes more real — cranes in the sky, concrete pouring, courts taking shape and a future home for our community rising level by level.

This is more than a construction project. It’s the rebuilding of a hub - a place for sport, culture, wellness, celebration, connection and community!

From football fields and basketball courts to pools, fitness, arts, events and shared moments together — the Hakoah Club is being built for generations to come.

Thank you to everyone who continues to support the journey. The momentum is real, and the best is still to come.

The bricks and mortar are paving the way for the conversations, the laughter and the lifetime of memories.

Because Life is better together.

I do. Do you? 💍✨

The top level of Hakoah is going to be the home of simchas (celebrations) for years to come.

Introducing Hakoah’s future function space — opening 2027 — designed for the moments that matter most.
Weddings, bar & bat mitzvahs, birthdays, galas… and every simcha in between.

Multipurpose space:
• 300 seated in full ballroom mode
• 280 with a packed dance floor
• Up to 500 standing celebrations
• A full-height operable wall to transform the space, your design, your way
• Commercial kitchen, seamless service
• Dedicated green room / bridal suite + VIP spaces, fully kitted for your big day

All set against something pretty special — sweeping views over Rushcutters Bay Park and across the valley of the football field.

This is where memories will be made.
So let’s get Bubba and Zaida on those chairs and raise them in the air!
The countdown to 2027 starts now.
Start training for those horas. ;)

There are moments in history that try to shrink us. Moments that whisper: stay quiet, stay small, stay safe. But Jewish history has never moved forward that way.

We’ve always answered pressure with presence. Uncertainty with creativity. Fear with culture.

We don’t disappear — we gather. We don’t dim — we create, sing, argue, cook, build, perform and show up more fully as ourselves.

Because being Jewish isn’t just something to protect. It’s something to LIVE.

At Hakoah, we believe the way forward isn’t to retreat — it’s to step forward.
More music.
More art.
More dance.
More community.
More spaces where Jewish life is vibrant, visible and unapologetically and joyfully alive.

This is why we are building the Hakoah Club. A place to gather. To celebrate. To connect across generations. To not just consume culture, but to make it. To feel at home — TOGETHER.

Because Jewish life doesn’t just survive.
It thrives….. when we choose to be agents of our own destiny and make it thrive.

Shabbat shalom.

Hakoah was not just built — it was rebuilt. By Holocaust survivors who arrived with unimaginable loss, yet chose life. Chose community. Chose to gather, to play sport, to laugh again, and to create something bigger than themselves.

Their resilience wasn’t quiet — it was powerful. A refusal to be defined by what was taken, and a determination to build a future filled with connection, culture, and pride.

As we reflect on history, we’re reminded of moments when the world failed to stand up.

The 1936 Berlin Olympics gave legitimacy to the N**i regime — a global stage that masked hatred, persecution, and the stripping away of basic human rights. Despite growing awareness, the world largely chose participation over protest.

And yet — there were voices who stood up. Athletes, leaders, and communities who called for boycotts. Who understood that silence, or neutrality, can become complicity.

That lesson still echoes today. Because Hakoah represents the opposite of silence. It represents courage, community and continuity. It represents survivors who didn’t just endure history — they shaped the future.

This Yom Hashoah - we honour their spirit, we celebrate their zest for life and at Hakoah, we carry their legacy forward — together.

✨ From Milano-Cortina to Jerusalem — the spirit of sport connects us all! 🥇🔥

As the 2026 Winter Olympics brought the world together in celebration of excellence, passion and unity on snow and ice, we’re now counting down to the 22nd Maccabiah Games — taking place in Israel from June 30 to July 14, 2026 and proudly known as the Jewish Olympics 🇮🇱🏅

Both events remind us of the power of sport:
🌀 Community - uniting athletes from every corner of the globe
🏃‍♀️ Competition - striving for excellence in every discipline
🤝 Connection - building friendships that go beyond medals and records
🌍 Identity = representing culture, heritage, and pride on the world stage

Whether it’s the Winter Games’ breathtaking slopes, or the incredible gathering of Jewish athletes worldwide, we celebrate the joy of sport and the bonds it creates. 🌟💙

There will be a huge Aussie contingent there this year, and we can’t wait to cheer on our friends and family.

As the school year has just begun, we’re celebrating more than textbooks and timetables — we’re celebrating community.

Hakoah has always been a place where learning extends beyond the classroom. A place where friendships are formed on the sidelines, confidence is built through sport, and values are shaped through shared cultural experiences.

We can’t wait to welcome your schools back into our spaces — for sports days, swimming carnivals, inter-school competitions and moments that turn learning into lived experience. Our facilities will be a platform to support not just education, but connection, teamwork and joy.

Here’s to a year of growth, movement, curiosity and community — on the field, in the pool and beyond.

Today is a National Day of Mourning.

We pause as a nation to remember the victims of the Bondi terror attack and to hold close all those whose lives were changed forever.

At Hakoah, we stand with our community in grief — and in purpose.

The theme chosen in Bondi is one we deeply believe in: “Light will win.”

Tonight at 7:01pm, Australians are invited to observe a minute’s silence, light a candle, and perform a mitzvah — a simple act of kindness that brings light into the world.

A mitzvah can be small but meaningful:
• Check in on a neighbour
• Spend time with family
• Offer help, gratitude or warmth
• Give to others
• Light a candle in your window

In moments of darkness, we come together.
In grief, we choose compassion.
And as a community, we move forward — TOGETHER.

We hope you are all doing ok out there. The horrific terrorist attack in Bondi has left our community heartbroken 💔. We continue to mourn the 15 lives lost and hold close everyone impacted by this tragedy.

Amid deep grief, we also wanted to share the news that we feel reflects our great commitment to our Sydney Jewish community to heal, to gather, to live and to thrive. Hakoah has now signed a construction agreement with Richard Crooks Constructions to complete the White City precinct, with completion expected around Pesach 2027.

Jewish life has always been built on resilience, unity and care for one another. Rebuilding Hakoah is about creating a place of safety, connection and joy — a space where our community can come together, be celebrated and grow stronger.

Before October 7, a strong Hakoah mattered. After October 7, it became essential. Now, after Bondi, it is critical! Hakoah will become a tangible and symbolic beacon for social cohesion in our great country, and now we’re closer than ever.

Let’s move forward together — to honour those we’ve lost by strengthening Jewish life and building a future grounded in community, care and hope. After all, life’s better together.

Wishing you all a safe, peaceful and healthy new year.
