The Australian-Syrian Businessmen Council Elects New Leadership at Successful Annual General Meeting!
On Saturday, March 8th, 2025, the ASBC held its Annual General Meeting, marking a significant step forward for our organization. The highlight of the day was a meticulously organized and transparent Board election.
A shoutout to our Public Officer! He orchestrated a truly seamless and professional Board election, ensuring transparency and fairness every step of the way. With the support of three dedicated members (Mr Fawzan Malas, Mr Khaled Alabdulla & Mr Firas Dib) the election was a masterclass in organized democracy.
We're delighted to announce the newly elected Board: 6 permanent Directors (Dr Ali Jourieh, Mr Zafer Aek, Mr Ali Ramadan, Dr Bachar Kahawati, Dr Muhanad Mursi, Dr Ammar Hamad) and 3 new members (Mr Mouath Alkhouli, Mr Youssef Murtada, Mr Hassan Ismail), alongside our new Executive team (Mr Ali Ramadan/President - Dr Muhanad Mursi/Vice President, Mr Youssef Murtada/Secretary, Mr Mouath Alkhouli/Treasurer)! The ASBC has expressed its continued trust in the current Public Officer's (Dr Ammar Hamad) professional capabilities, ensuring his ongoing service in his current role. This dynamic group is poised to lead the ASBC with a clear vision and strategic plan for the next two years.
What's even more exciting are the forward-thinking plans and strategies the new Board and Executives have already laid out. Think innovative initiatives, enhanced networking opportunities, and a laser focus on strengthening the Australian Syrian business community. We're talking real, tangible growth!

To further bolster our operational capacity, we're thrilled to announce that several dedicated ASBC members will be joining our Public Officer as new managers. This collaborative approach will ensure efficient ex*****on of our duties and enhance our ability to serve our members.
The ASBC acknowledges and deeply appreciates the outstanding leadership of the previous Executives (Dr Ali Jourieh, Mr Zafer Aek, Dr Muhanad Mursi, Dr Bachar Kahawati), Board members (Mr Mouath Alkhouli), and Public Officer (Dr Ammar Hamad). Their unwavering dedication, tireless efforts, and the continued collaborative leadership of the current Public Officer have been instrumental in establishing a robust foundation for the ASBC. We particularly recognize Public Officer’s and Executives’ success in addressing and resolving past issues, leaving the organization well-positioned for future growth.
We want also to extend our heartfelt gratitude to every member who attended and contributed to this successful AGM. Your participation is what makes the ASBC thrive!

مجلس رجال الأعمال الأسترالي السوري ينتخب قيادة جديدة في اجتماع الجمعية العمومية السنوي الناجح!
في يوم السبت، 8 مارس 2025، عقد مجلس رجال الأعمال الأسترالي السوري (ASBC) اجتماعه السنوي للجمعية العمومية، مما يمثل خطوة كبيرة إلى الأمام لمنظمتنا. كان أبرز ما في اليوم هو انتخابات مجلس الإدارة المنظمة والشفافة بدقة.
تحية للمدير الحكومي! لقد جهز وأدار إنتخابات مجلس الإدارة بسلاسة واحترافية حقيقية، وضمن الشفافية والعدالة في كل خطوة. وبدعم من ثلاثة أعضاء متفانين (السيد فوزان ملص، السيد خالد العبد الله، السيد فراس ديب)، كانت الانتخابات بمثابة درس نموذجي في الديمقراطية المنظمة.
يسعدنا أن نعلن عن مجلس الإدارة المنتخب حديثًا: 6 مديرين دائمين (د. علي جورية، السيد ظافر العايق، السيد علي رمضان، د. بشار قهواتي، د. مهند مرسي، د. عمار حمد) و 3 أعضاء جدد، (السد معاذ الخولي، السيد يوسف مرتضى، السيد حسان اسماعيل) إلى جانب فريقنا التنفيذي الجديد (السيد علي رمضان/الرئيس - د. مهند مرسي/نائب الرئيس – السيد يوسف مرتضى/أمين السر – السيد معاذ الخولي/أمين الصندوق)! كما أكد مجلس رجال الأعمال الأسترالي السوري على ثقته الراسخة في الكفاءة المهنية للمدير الحكومي الحالي (د. عمار حمد)، ويضمن استمراره بأداء مهامه المهنية على أكمل وجه في منصبه الحالي .هذه المجموعة الديناميكية مستعدة لقيادة مجلس رجال الأعمال الأسترالي السوري برؤية واضحة وخطة استراتيجية للعامين المقبلين.
الأمر الأكثر إثارة هو الخطط والاستراتيجيات المستقبلية التي وضعها مجلس الإدارة والمديرون التنفيذيون بالفعل. فكروا في مبادرات مبتكرة، وفرص تواصل محسنة، وتركيز قوي على تعزيز مجتمع الأعمال الأسترالي السوري. نحن نتحدث عن نمو حقيقي ملموس!
