Feral Animal Control Works Notice – Winton Wetlands Reserve

Please be advised that feral animal shooting will take place within the Winton Wetlands Reserve from:
📅Monday 15 June to Friday 18 June 2026
⏰3pm - 7am
🔒 All entrance gates will be locked and clearly signed during this period.

🚫For your safety, do not enter the reserve during these times.
This operation is being carried out by a licensed contractor targeting foxes.

The Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action remains committed to protecting native wildlife and reducing pest threats to adjoining livestock.

📣 Winton Wetlands fox control information session

A community information session will be held on Thursday 4 June to provide an overview of the fox control program at Winton Wetlands, for adjoining landholders, local land managers and Landcare groups.

Hear from Fraser Harrison Agriculture Victoria's vertebrate pest engagement officer, about practical fox control techniques for landholders, how coordinating with neighbours can help improve results, and funding and support options for community-led fox control programs.

Fox control program – Winton Wetlands Reserve

Please be advised that a fox baiting program will take place within Winton Wetlands Reserve from:

👉Monday 27 April to Friday 20 October 2026

All fox control activities will be carried out by qualified staff and signage will be in place at all entrances to the reserve.

Fox predation is a significant threat to populations of native fauna.

The Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action remains committed to protecting native wildlife and reducing pest threats to adjoining livestock.
