Thinking about food and our bodies can take up a lot of time and make us feel worried about things that used to make us happy. Sound familiar? You are not alone. Many young people experience binge eating, and the good news is that things can get better. โœจ

If youโ€™re aged 16 to 25 and experiencing binge eating behaviours, you can access Guided Brief BEeT โ€“ weekly in-person support with one of our trained clinicians, plus four online eTherapy modules through our partners at InsideOut Institute for Eating Disorders. ๐Ÿ’š

Brief BEeT has been developed by researchers and people with their own lived experience of eating difficulties. It can help you understand your eating so you can get back into things you enjoy.

To learn more about Brief BEeT, visit https://bit.ly/44fKGa6 ๐Ÿ”— or get in touch with us at headspace Swan Hill on 03 4010 7100. ๐Ÿ“ž

We embraced the theme ๐ŸŒˆ Colours of Courage ๐ŸŒˆ with a paint and snack class for ages 12-17 and a paint and sip class for ages 18-25. ๐ŸŽจ

On Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th, we were fortunate enough to host headspace Rounds at the soccer! โšฝ๏ธ

We spent both days at Swan Hill Soccer League encouraging the teams and presenting the โ€˜heads onโ€™ award. โœจ
This yearโ€™s headspace Rounds theme was โ€œyou belong.โ€

For many people, sport can be where they find their people. You might arrive at your first training session not knowing anyone, but over time, your teammates can become friends, people you trust, and people who make you feel like you belong. ๐Ÿ’š

The headspace National Youth Survey states that 62% of young people feel left out often, so team sport gives us a unique opportunity to build connections and include others. The same survey reported that 74% of young people would reach out to their friends for emotional support, which highlights the importance of friendships, which are often formed through sporting clubs in our small town. โšฝ๏ธ๐Ÿ€๐Ÿˆ๐ŸŽพ

Every training session, every game, and every conversation is a chance to remind someone that they are part of something and that they belong here.โ˜บ๏ธ๐Ÿ’šโœจ

Thank you to Swan Hill Soccer League for hosting us and to the travelling teams below that got around our message. ๐Ÿ’š

When you attend headspace, you will be asked to complete a hAPI survey that gives your clinician insight into how your're doing. The hAPI survey also provides us information about the demographic we're supporting, how we're doing as a service and the number of young people we're supporting. ๐Ÿ’š

This information is de-identified and used to measure our centre's impact and identify areas for potential improvement. ๐Ÿ“Š

By completing the hAPI survey, you're also giving consent for the de-identified information to be shared with government and health services to help give an overview of youth mental health in Australia. When this occurs, your name and address are never shared. ๐Ÿšซ

This week is Loneliness Awareness Week and the theme for 2026 is Make Room for Connection.
Making connection can be as simple as texting a friend, inviting someone to join you in a shared interest, watching a movie with your pet or smiling to a stranger. ๐Ÿ’š

According to Ending Loneliness Together, 18-25 year olds are reported to be the loneliest age group, but the least socially isolated and some people feel loneliest when theyโ€™re surrounded by others. If youโ€™re struggling to connect with others or having trouble navigating friendships or relationships, then come and chat to us. Alternatively you can use our site for resources and eheadspace https://headspace.org.au/eheadspace/ ๐Ÿ”—

Tomorrow night we also have our LNKD social group for ages 16-25 at Swan Hill Art Gallery to do mono printing from 5pm-6:30pm. This group is free and you donโ€™t need to be accessing any headspace services to join it, just register through the link below so we know to expect you. ๐Ÿคฉโœจ
