Clontarf ANZAC Experience Camp

A trip we have had on the calendar for many years was finally upon us, it may not have been the Canberra destination we once hoped for but still honouring those that fought for our country.

Joining us for the camp were staff and students from Warrnambool and Robinvale Academies. Thanks for a great two days lads.

We had some great activities in Melbourne Sky Deck, Ten Pin Bowling, Arcade Games and dinner before heading off for our night activity.

Being part of the AFL ANZAC Eve match between Richmond v Melbourne was amazing with fantastic seats also. The pre-game entertainment awesome and a real highlight for us all.

A 4am wake up call and before we knew it the lads were all dressed immaculate and ready to head to the Shrine of Remembrance.

I’m so glad I finally got to do this with these amazing young fellas as well a very special person to myself and Clontarf in De Rosewarne.

Emotional and memorable to say the least

A very quiet bus trip home which ends my last camp with Clontarf while the 9 year journey will finish next week.

2023 Swan Hill Clontarf Academy Awards Night

We celebrated a brilliant year with partners, family and friends on Monday, 13th November for our annual Awards Night.

A big shout out to the Swan Hill Lions Club Inc for catering the BBQ, to Trish and Josiah for making the salads and to Robyn Reed for the magnificent photography.

We look forward to an exciting 2024 next year.

Tonight a group of us cooked the BBQ for the Swan Hill Clontarf Academy End of Year Awards. Our President, Rhett Ehms, presented one of the awards for the evening.

Live on Kayo was certainly the inspiration the boys needed to get up from a hot and tiring day yesterday. NT came out really strong and we’re way too quick and got the jump on us to lead by 5 goals at half time. A much better team performance see our lads play some of our best footy over the carnival and we were the better team in the second half.

A tour of the Collingwood FC facilities by former player Leon Davis including their new Indigenous Room was very special for them all

We hold on to beat SA by 1 point in an absolute thriller of a game. With several boys cramping in severe pain due to the heat we managed to notch our first win over our neighbours.

Our boys played a great first half only being 7 points down before WA ran over the top of us in the second half.

Our three Swan Hill lads fought out the game well in very hot conditions Shaun Kirby (ruck / forward), Blake Wright (back pocket) and Xavier Johnson (forward / on-baller) held their heads high
