One Meal - Sutherland Shire

We now have three services across the shire in Cronulla, Miranda and Sutherland.

One Meal – It Makes a Difference is a not-for-profit, community organisation that helps to feed, clothe and support the homeless, disenfranchised, vulnerable and at-risk members of our local communities. One Meal - Sutherland Shire, was founded in July 2016 after realising a lack of adult male homelessness support and a high number of homeless people in the Sutherland Shire in general. We run enti

Such an honour to have our local state member Mark Speakman put on the OneMeal apron and help our wonderful Caringbah Baptist Church volunteers serve those in need of a hot meal. We were also joined by Ian Kirk CEO of The Willarong and members of his team including the chef responsible the fantastic food being served. Thanks to all who made it a special night.

Chicken, rice and salad was served to our 32 clients today courtesy of our sponsor the Prince hotel kirrawee. Volunteers topped up the meal with a vegetarian soup and desserts of cheesecake, ice cream, muffins and a fruit dessert with marshmallows. A generous donation from Groundbake Cronulla of freshly baked sourdough, bread rolls and pastries not only rounded out the meal but also gave the clients an opportunity to take a loaf home . The donation from Coles Sutherland shire region provided everyone with a bag of goodies to take home - this included boxes of cereal and toiletries . Thanks to the volunteers who had a busy afternoon serving up not only a meal but also a takeaway bag.

The Sutherland ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and local neighbours for getting together and making up over 300 breakfast packs for One Meal to offer our patrons. So much appreciation - thank you 🤩

One Meal Engadine team 4 were on duty tonight (26/8/26).

Dinner was appreciated by our One Meal patrons on a mild winters night.

Many thanks to:
Engadine Community Services who made their facilities available.
Bakers Delight for the fresh bread rolls.
St John Bosco College Engadine for the breakfast packs.

Our patrons enjoyed chicken & vegetable and pumpkin soup, meatballs and veges, with gravy, salad, hot chips, for dessert - chocolate mud cake, triffle, then bananas, mandarins, and apples which was donated by One Meal and our volunteers.

Our patrons were able to take with them blankets, beanies, socks and jumpers.

An excellent service.

Another wonderful mix of food from The Willarong on Monday night at Caringbah Baptist Church. Curry, pasta, pappadams, veggies and garlic bread. Kudos also to Caringbah Highschool who pack the breakfast packs for us. Desert and fruit was also an amazing selection thanks to the volunteer team and Pauls Dad.

Sutherland Service - Sunday 23 August. A sunny afternoon in Sutherland our patrons all enjoying a meal from The Prince Hotel. They were treated to a rich chicken curry and brown rice which was served side with salad and beautiful fried rice made by one of our volunteers. Fabulous chocolate slice, carrot cake and pear golden syrup pudding with plenty of ice cream was on offer for dessert. Breakfast packs, snacks, fresh fruit along with tea and coffee were also available. Thanks to The Prince Hotel for supplying the main courses and to Kareela Public School for making up the breakfast packs. Most of all thank you to all of our wonderful volunteers who work so hard cooking and serving to make this service possible. Andrew

It was a busy night at One Meal, Engadine.
Thank you Engadine Community Services for the space providing warmth and shelter.
Our patrons enjoyed the lasagna cooked by Pizza League.
The volunteers contributed veggies,sweet corn chicken soup, coleslaw, apple crumble, cranberry slice, bananas and apples.
We had lots of bread from Bakers Delight and breakfast packs by St John Bosco College Engadine.
As an extra bonus we had blankets and puffy jackets donated by Yowie Bay Public School which was gratefully received.

We are so blessed to have The Willarong as a partner for our meal service at Caringbah Baptist Church. Just look at the options and quantity they provide our diners. Chicken Schnitzel, Pasta, Garlic bread, chips and salad. Wow. Thanks to our volunteers who provided the Fruit and desert as well as service with a smille.

16/8/26 Another busy service at Sutherland today! ❤️

We are very grateful to The Prince Hotel for providing our delicious main meals every week, and to our wonderful volunteers who make our Sunday service possible by serving the meals, tea & coffee, providing delicious desserts, fruit, side dishes, and handing out breakfast packs and other donations.

Today’s delicious desserts were outstanding!

It’s the generosity, time and kindness of everyone involved that helps us provide a warm meal and support to those in need in our community.

We were also pleased to have Census representatives on site today, assisting people who are experiencing homelessness, or anyone who needed help completing the Census.

A huge thank you to everyone who contributed to today’s service. Your support makes such a difference. 💙

Cronulla service Thursday 13 August 2026.

Lovely evening for our service. Fantastic meal from Highfield Caringbah, plenty of delicious tucker for everyone. Yummy dessert of cheesecake with custard. Loads of fruit thanks to Cronulla Gourmet Grocer, plus we handed out breakfast packs, snacks from Fresh Roasted Nuts - Stax Foods, pantry items & toiletries. Also some lovely bread from Stonebake🙂
Thank you to our volunteers for making the service run smoothly👏
