Thank you to the 2,709 incredible participants who stepped up to take on the Heartbreak to Hope Walk in May, together walking over 123,689 km and raising over $681k for kids with cancer. We've met so many passionate fundraisers along the way, who have not only embraced the challenge, but gone above and beyond to raise greater awareness and funds. ๐Ÿ‘Ÿ๐ŸŽ—๏ธ

The walk itself may be over, but the fundraising isn't! Donations are still open throughout June, with every dollar going directly towards supporting families facing childhood cancer. Visit https://ow.ly/mNin50Z7qCr ๐Ÿ’›

DOUBLE your impact today and help twice as many children and families facing childhood cancer. ๐ŸŽ—๏ธ

When Kit was in treatment, Hannah couldnโ€™t work, and the financial pressure quickly built. โ€œWe were living week to week, with bills piling up,โ€ she said.

Through it all, kind-hearted Redkite supporters like you helped them get through. Donate before 30 June and your gift will be matched dollar for dollar by other generous donors, up to $30,000!

When Kylie's son Brandan was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia in July 2024, their world quite literally changed overnight. By 2am, she and Brandan had been airlifted from Cairns to Brisbane for treatment, leaving behind his twin sister Montana and dad Scott.

Kylie left her job straight away to be by his side. "He's such a fighter and was so positive through everything."

Now, over a year on, Brandan has been looking to the future, using his Dare to Dream Scholarship to help fund his dream of working in media and film. ๐ŸŽฌ

For Kylie, seeing her son imagine his future is incredibly special. "It's actually beautiful to see Brandan looking at the next five months, because it was just a day-at-a-time thing and Brandan couldn't see anything past what he had to do that day."

This National Reconciliation Week, we're reflecting on this year's theme, "All In" โ€“ a call for every Australian to move beyond acknowledgement and take active steps toward reconciliation. The theme also reminds us that reconciliation is not a passive activity, and is not solely the responsibility of First Nations people, who have carried the weight of championing, explaining and acting for far too long.

This May, staff from across our organisation, including our executive team, have been participating in yarning circles facilitated by Evolve Communities. These circles create space for honest dialogue, shared understanding and deeper cultural awareness, helping us move from acknowledgement into meaningful action in our workplaces and everyday interactions.

This week, our Rainbow Kite group brought Redkite offices together in recognition of IDAHOBIT โ€“ the International Day Against LGBTQIA+ Discrimination.

Our teams reflected on the small, everyday actions that help build inclusion: choosing language thoughtfully, not making assumptions, and showing visible allyship.

This year's theme, "At the Heart of Democracy", reminds us that LGBTQIA+ rights aren't separate from the values we all share, but central to them.

At Redkite, that means ensuring LGBTQIA+ young people and families affected by childhood cancer feel safe, respected and seen in every interaction with us โ€“ because inclusion shapes the quality of support we're able to provide.

Thank you to everyone who took part, and to Rainbow Kite for the work you do to make Redkite a safer and more supportive place for LGBTQIA+ staff and the families we walk alongside. ๐ŸŒˆ

Earlier this week, Team Milo celebrated Milo's first birthday. ๐ŸŽ‚ They're doing the Heartbreak to Hope Walk for their beautiful little boy, who is currently undergoing chemotherapy as he awaits a life-saving liver transplant.

Milo's mum, Annie, shared "We're walking for him. For the happiest, most resilient person we know. He's taught us so much over this past year! Redkite has been invaluable and supported us in ways there are no words for."

Despite everything they're going through, Team Milo has shown up in the most extraordinary way. They're currently sitting at the top of the leaderboard, having raised an incredible $36,686 for families just like theirs.

From all of us at Redkite, happy 1st birthday to you Milo. We're cheering you on every step of the way. ๐ŸŽˆ
