Kite for Kids brings together children aged 6–12 who have been diagnosed with cancer. Through storytelling, drawing and shared activities, children are gently supported to explore their experiences, express their feelings, recognise their strengths, and build confidence in who they are. "I couldn't believe this was happening to my two-year-old and at the same time I had to be okay, so I didn't go into labour." 💭

Emilia was just two years old when she was diagnosed with Leukaemia – her mum Amy was 36 weeks pregnant at the time. A few weeks later, Amy was induced, and soon found herself travelling up to an hour each way to the hospital every day with newborn Maeve by her side.

During the most intense phases of treatment, Emilia withdrew emotionally and experienced depression. At one point, she looked at her mum and asked to cuddle her baby sister. "We wholeheartedly believed that helped her get out of the depression she was in. Even the doctors were saying it." ❤️‍🩹

Thank you to the 2,709 incredible participants who stepped up to take on the Heartbreak to Hope Walk in May, together walking over 123,689 km and raising over $681k for kids with cancer. We've met so many passionate fundraisers along the way, who have not only embraced the challenge, but gone above and beyond to raise greater awareness and funds. 👟🎗️
