Surfers Paradise parkrun Surfers Paradise parkrun is a free, timed, 5km run / walk put on by the community for the community The great thing is that you only ever need to do this once!

parkrun is not a race against other runners, but a 5km timed run, jog or walk. It can really be whatever you want it to be, whether that's for fun or as part of a training plan. Surfers Paradise parkrun offers an opportunity for all members of our local community, male or female, young or old, to come together on a regular basis to enjoy our beautiful Evandale Lake and get physically active in the

process. We want to encourage people to walk, jog or run together irrespective of their ability – this event is truly open to all and best of all it really is FREE! Taking part is easy – just register in advance by 6pm on the Friday before your first ever parkrun event. Then just set your alarm for Saturday morning and get yourself there!

parkrun Australia and the Queensland Government have teamed up to promote parkrun events as the best possible way to kick off Queensland Day tomorrow, Saturday 6 June, and it would be great to have your support!

We know parkrunners love nothing more than dressing up, so as part of the celebrations we are encouraging parkrunners to wear maroon.

Think tutus, wigs, active wear, State of Origin kit or any other creative concoction that comes to mind!

Well done to the 145 athletes who took part in Surfers Paradise parkrun this morning and the 13 amazing volunteers who made it happen. It was a perfect running morning as evidenced by the 19 athletes who achieved PB times most notable our third placed finisher, Bria, who logged her overall personal best 5km time ever!! Welcome to our 34 First Timers, I hope you enjoyed your run!!
