⭐️ Pre season Competitive Edge Nipper Camp ⭐️

During the September school holidays we took over Tallebudgera Recreation Centre for our annual pre season Nippers Camp!
Highlights included…board & swim sessions in the creek, aerial adventure course, pool rescue training, sunrise run around Burleigh headland, not much sleep but lots of amazing memories! 💛💙
If you ask the kids I’m sure they’d also add ‘ding d**g ditching’ each other’s cabins 😂
A huge thank you to everyone who made this camp possible: Surfers Paradise Surf Club Nippers Committee, Stingrays Swimming club, Coaches, water safety, parents, guardians and of course all the little legends who gave every activity their absolute all.

Thank you also to ENGINE - Performance Swimwear Gooch Goo Ⓡ Race One Surf Craft for their ongoing support with prizes and gear.

It was wonderful to welcome all our Nippers back to the beach last weekend! There was plenty of energy, smiles and excitement as we kicked off another season at Surfers Paradise SLSC💛🩵💛🩵

This weekend we are calling on the Pink Cap families to help with our beach set-up/pack-down and the BBQ.
We need:
- 4 x parents for the beach set-up from 7:00am and the pack down from 10:00am
- 5 x parent to help with the Nipper BBQ

We’re excited to be kicking off the 2026/27 Nipper season this Sunday, 27 September, and can’t wait to see all our families back on the beach!

⏰ Please arrive by 8:00 am for the 8:15am morning briefing.

📝 For safety, all Nippers must be signed in by a parent/guardian.

🌟 SCB Officials Workshop – 2026/27 Season 🌟
As we gear up for the 2026/27 carnival season, it’s essential that clubs prepare their Officials to meet competition requirements. Our carnivals rely entirely on volunteers — and the rule remains firm:
➡️ No Officials = No Competitors
South Coast Branch will host a Face‑to‑Face Officials Workshop to help probationary officials gain the confidence and knowledge needed for their first beach session.
📌 Key Updates for This Season
• Ratio Requirement: 1 official per 8 competitors
• Qualification Rule: At least 50% of officials provided for each carnival must be fully qualified
• Championship Quota: Probationary Officials do not count toward club quotas for the SCB U11–U15 Championships
• Clubs will have five lead‑up carnivals for probationary officials to complete beach training & accreditation
🏖️ Workshop Details
📅 Wednesday, 30 September
⏰ 6:00 PM (approx. 1 hour)
📍 SCB Building, behind Mermaid SLSC
💲$30 for SCB Members (invoiced to their club) - Includes shirt, flipchart & temporary badge
✅ Next Steps for Clubs - MEMBERS
Ensure you are a financial member, have a current Blue Card and have completed all child safety awards.
